Who would have ever thought at the beginning of the season, that the Union/JSB thread would have been 3 pages. That defiantly says something about Battles progression through out the season.
Lebanon was a part of Region C because they were in the Hogoheegee for years.
Correct. For those of us who played in the HOGO the regional tournaments were weird. We were all in Region C but felt like we should have been Region D, 90% (the other 10% GW & RR played Reg. C) of or our non district games were against Region D. Then if you made the playoffs or regional tournament you rarely had a rematch unless you re-matched with someone in the district.
for my money good old BERMUDA GRASS does a great job....as long as you don't mind brown grass after the first frost.
Personally I love Northwood's field after the first frost. Their colors are Navy and Silver (not white) and the field has kind of a grayish brown look and they stripe the field with Navy Blue.

If you are close enough to the field in Bristol, I expect you can catch one as they are thrown into the stands by the team...I am sure the players will want no part of those things after being "Butch slapped".
As long as Chilhowie beats Northwood, it's a successful season. Lol.
I really hope that doesn't happen. lol. I thought the last couple of seasons would have been good for the program, (I know I've enjoyed them lol) make them want to win even more. I will say this, while watching the game the offense was very predictable. Jet sweep to the left the next play was going to be jet to the right, or double hand off to the left next play double hand off to the right. It was like that all game, both backs wanted to try and get outside every time, hardly ever tried to turn it up. I was impressed with #10 especially after he went in at QB he is a good athlete.
Blacksburg always has a good kicker....with the powerhouse soccer program there they always get a soccer player to kick and he is always good....so I don't think that's it....Just sounds a little arrogant to me
I really didn't think that was the case, just throwing my two cents out there.
I would hate to be one of those kids that lives in Tannersville or Burkes Garden and have to ride the bus to Bluefield.
On a side note. Rumor is this is the last year of middle school sports. Supposedly next year 8th and 9th grade will be JV in Tazewell County. Has anyone else heard this? I know it was talked of before this year started but was shot down.
A bunch of the Tannersville kids did and still do attend Northwood.
