Grayson's only loss was an impressive showing against Radford in a 9 point game. Grayson is a solid team with a lot of talent. Grayson didn't have an answer for the quickness of Morton-Robertson. Not many will outside of Gate City.
East #8 was transported from the sideline back to the field house in the back of a JD Gator vehicle with about a minute left in the game. I was sitting in the stands right above where he was laying prone on the sideline for a few minutes. He had to be lifted into the back of the vehicle and from his face it appeared he was in some serious pain, enough to prompt prayer from this old man!
Just posting the roster on here or making a Facebook page with it as one of the posts would be fine. Nothing fancy required. Congrats to those who pull this game together. You do a great job and I look forward to it every year.
Thanks. I must have missed that with the injury. A lot of work and resources go into the FCA game. About 100 guys got to put the jersey on one more time. Have a great banquet and hear great speakers. Families seemed to be blessed at the game.
We all met at midfield at the end of the game for prayer. No one mentioned anyone being injured. Game was a good game and both teams were really good. Emory was a great field to play on. There were rosters in the press box the media were using. Maybe next year a larger quantity can be made for all the fans.
Jeb Stidham has long told everyone that he was done with football as soon as the season was over, no college ,nothing. He has told others that he wants to be able to walk when he gets old.I think he would make a great player, but if his heart is not in it, he would just be wasting his time.I think thats why you didnt see him at Wise in the game.I really enjoyed watching the game,The kid from GILES looked really good, I wish we would have used him at running back some , he looked very smooth when he passed for the 2 point conversion, the NARROWS kids could also hit....dang they would fly to the ball. COOK should have recieved the ball more , he was open every play

2 from Union was selected. James and Braxton Zirkle . Zirkle made 2nd team All State and Jeb Stidham made 1st team All State. How does a guy make 1st team All State 2 years in a row and get passed by to play in the Vhsl game? Something is not right with this picture. What is the process that is used to pick who does and does not play in Vhsl games?
I did. I would estimate a 1000 people there. It was a defensive struggle. Neither offense had any spectacular plays, but some great individual plays and performaces. The Red team's QB was very small, but absolutely tough as nails.
My first all star game, and I enjoyed it. Would definitely go again if it's close by in the future. Lot of good athletes. Beidleman for Giles really stood out at DB. Heard his name a lot. Glad to see Dalton Mullins from Central get to play after his season ending injury. He snagged an INT for the Blue team.
Mitchell scored the only TD in the first half for Red. Made a couple of really good catches.
How come Jeb Stidham of Union didn't get invited? He was 1st team All State.
The 2017 FCA East West All Star Senior Football Game will be a 1pm kickoff this Sat at Emory. Teams will be comprised of SWVA and Northeast Tenn players. Teams had a banquet tonight.
After the last 2 games Union has outscored Marion and Graham 86- 15..and Marion scored 8 of those points at the final second on Union subs. So basically 86-7..So I'm going to say 28-14 Union at home!
I'm driving from NC to watch this game! Bears need to control the ball and limit time of possession to GMEN. I'm going to say Mitchell makes 1 key play that gives the Bears the W! He thrives in games like this. 28-22 Bears at home.
Can anyone tell me why they had to kick off 3 times? Back to back to back???? Again most incoherent refs ever seen. Took 5 minute discussions on calls every few minutes. No one knew what was going on! For a playoff game these kids deserved much better than what they got! I went to Hurley-Eastside game and refs did a great job. Fans left the stadium in a nice mood even after their team lost...
