Rat: I was just taking a jab at someone that said those words about Mcclung near this time last year. I would certainly agree with you, the Big East conference is a top 5 basketball conference and Georgetown is certainly a high major program. My scouts are not that smart. LOL
Wise could be a top 3 team in the West next year (if healthy). Watching the region games last year IMHO they were light years ahead of Martinsville.

Here it is. Move the Game to a larger site.Publicizes the heck out of the game, maybe sell raffle tickets to win a car or something crazy at halftime. Have a ton of promotions. Take that money and spend it on your teams.Buy a piece of equipment for your team; go to a camp that you normally cannot afford, purchase a strength program or coach, shooting coach or do something that will help your team for the years to come.That way you get a sure “win” for your program that night. (Ok loose definition of the word win.) These crowds are ridiculous, the media and social media are unbelievable.Used it for your team!Last night 2165 people according to the news packed in a gym and McClung and Ervin where game time decisions, a lot of people were turned away at the door. smh
Of Course Gate City can be beat. They are high school kids.But, to get home court advantage you will likely have to beat them twice.Take the money and make something positive for your program.Heck you might beat them at the larger site and get a double win.
Just curious and I mean absolutely no ill will,, but how would you compare fancy (and 1 dribbling) BS to kicking a player and crying during a game? Just trying to get a perspective on this.
Any information of Slagles' playing? Although, I thought union played very well as a team without him against GC. Other players stepped up and took and hit shots. But I hope the kid is alright. He is one heck of a player! If he is healthy, history may have to wait.
How exciting for SWVA basketball to have this kind of buzz about this game. I would not have done it, but kudos to Union for doing it. UVA-Wise is a great place to play this game. Very special for the kids on both teams and exciting for the fans. Cant wait.
Battle was 14 points better at home against Gate City than they were away against Gate City. Union beat battle by 14 at home and travel to Battle to night. Anyone selling John Battle over Union to tonight?
R.E. Lee is a good team. Will be a tough match up for the Devils, (if they make it) but they don't have the guard play that GC does. And Martinsville and R.E. Lee play each other soon.
What if Leb slows it way down - runs a box in one - triangle in two or maybe a line in Three? Remember Gate City has not beaten a Virginia team all year and they are on a 3 game losing streak. So there a chance. JK
