East River Soccer had over 700 kids participating in spring soccer a few years back. They have added a u-4, possibly a u-3 division since then. Wouldn't surprise me if they have 1000 kids in the spring and about half that in the fall.

And the fundraisers usually benefit the sports programs or the band. It is money well spent. In this area, the schools operate on a shoe string budget.

Tazewell @ Radford will be at 6:00 and will be on NFHS.

Don't know much about Division 1, but in Division 2 - you have to go with Graham and Ridgeview as the favorites. It wouldn't surprise me to see Union in the mix as well. Some of the other teams may pose a challenge.

Not in particular. There was a young man from Mt. View who lost his life due to violence recently, he had just graduated. There was a terrible incident at the Mountain festival where a young teen got severely injured as well. I think it is very sad. The incident at Richlands yesterday makes you think a bit as well. Yes, some of those things on that list are ridiculous, but if some of the more sensible precautions save one person from being injured or killed, I don't mind to be inconvenienced, even more than just a little bit. I think safety should be the #1 issue at any event.

With the uptick in violence amongst the younger population in the area recently. I believe it will be passed as well.

Yeah, I figured that much. Thought it might be at a Jamboree or something in Salem.

Bulldogs will end up with 48-50. Excellent numbers for the dogs. Good to see 3 or 4 athletes from the baseball team out there and 1 or 2 former players coming back out.

Not sure if he has enrolled yet. Can't practice until you enroll as a student. I guess we shall see.

I hope you are correct. But I don't see why they would. The district setup would allow them to remain in the same district, but compete for a 2A title.

LCA sued a few years back (2015, I think) and the VHSL caved.and they reached a settlement which allowed LCA to join the VHSL. The 2A schools should join together to oppose this. Wasn't fair against 4A schools when they joined, definitely not fair against 2A schools now.

2A is getting a raw deal in this re-alignment.

Kids can grow a lot from one year to the next at that age (and put on a lot of weight). But you are most likely correct. Another big body on that already big and strong line for Graham will be a plus for them, even if he comes in as a backup in some situations. I'm sure the Graham coaches will mold him into the best he can be, if given enough time.
