Had to eat a little crow but didn't expect the Red Team to play so poorly . Chances of that happening two weeks in a row are slim . GW best have a party , go out to eat , get a motel room and use the pool . Hold practice at VT and get pictures taken . Enjoy the ride because the destination won't be comfortable . Happy for them to make it to the big dance .

My grandson just showed me the GW film . Wow , I am sorry but you guys are correct . Riverheads will score at will and my guess is GW will not score or only in garbage time . I think there is a lot of talent in SWVA and it would be nice to see a good game but odds are it won't be . I hope it's an injury free contest for everyone . jmo

It's all about match ups ! GW will likely be a much different look for Riverheads . The RED TEAM better not sleep on this bunch . I see a very close game going either way . All the talk of GW being the underdog I will have to disagree . jmo

Essex will be in Salem next year ! They are better than years past . Hats off to coach Jones for the job he has done with this group . Riverheads is not the team they have been. To many mistakes and turn overs . If you have ever had BBQ CROW , I will tell you it needs a lot of Texas Pete . No excuses , the Gladiators were not 35 points better today. GW will have a good chance to take the trophy home next Saturday. Light me up guys , I can take it . lol

I really think this game will get ugly in the first half and then worse in the second ! I thought I was wrong one time but I was mistaken about that . lol

I will be really shocked if this is a close game . The weather can be a major factor with turnovers , but it applies to both teams . Injuries may also be a factor as seen in the LB game . The Stats are misleading . Riverheads plays a lot of 2nd and 3rd teams in games that are over at halftime . Other teams keep their A team in against them a lot of the time until the horn blows . Essex has 50% of scores coming from D side of the ball . Sloppy play leads to fumbles and pick sixes and the stats look great . The Red Team is a different animal . We shall see , that's why they play the game . jmo

My guess is Essex will be a BLOWOUT ! Robinson will be a non factor . 49 - 14

I would like to see Grundy in Salem . Riverheads has never played them I believe . They have the best chance of stopping the Gladiators .

The RED TEAM will be waiting for a " G " team in Salem !

I have been told this may include the group of 7th graders signed up for jv. Most likely the number will end up in the 50s or 60s on the Varsity.

Riverheads I have heard have 97 for both varsity and jv . The new coach will have his hands full of new kids !

No way Riverheads plays a season against 3A or 4A teams and survives . On the other hand they can play one game against the best of the upper divisions and compete ! The size of the backups is the difference .jmo

Riverheads never asked to drop down to 1A when their numbers were down ! Giles cried and begged to drop down ! Your train horn is a little weak !

If they move up to the caliber of competition they will go to 4A ! !A & 2A are panty pink soft !

Wheeler could not carry the water in GREENVILLE !

For what its worth the Wheeler deal happened under the principle and AD who are long gone ! Good riddins ! The new coach should slide in and there should be little change in the program and the success of the team . Seven in a row sounds good to me !

This is the same Thad Wheeler that put out NO effort to meet Casto and failed to show up for the job . Grant your bottom dollar that ain't happening again !

Congrats to Galax on a good season and a class act in todays game . Hope to see you next season .

Riverheads has had a string of very good football players the last few years and the next team up does not want to fail . jmo

1A teams that have large numbers have little depth past the first string . To win it all you have to have luck on your side . Injury free , good weather for what you do and bad weather for the other teams . Also a more seasoned coach who watches the musical chairs of other coaches . With the rotation of coaches the team starts over again . Riverheads has had some bad luck a few times and imo would have 2 or 3 more titles had things been different . Death and injury to key players over the years in the playoffs have been the reason for some of the seasons early exit. I am on the outside looking in so its jmo .

Sore losers ! If you can't win , they must be cheating . That's the bottom line !

I love WVA and if I am not mistaken the Riverheads coach is from there . When he found out there were Champions all over Greenville he had to move here ! Good luck to both teams and may there be not one injury in the contest , not one ! Maybe a few feelings hurt but nothing else .
