That's the thing with the coach at central. He was on the hot seat for poor performances  in the past.  Quite a few wanted him gone before this group of  central kids started.   He had to start listening or be  let go.

If he left it would be by his own doing. Takes huge shoulders to coach at any high school around here. This isn’t college. It’s high school. The county is so broke they can’t just hire and fire like colleges do.😂😂😂

Not a source just pointing out you left some coach/slash parents out.  The number has gone up since you first started crying.   Now its because you didnt want to name names after naming names Haha. I think its because you are little more clueless than you like to admit.  I'm sure all the coaches love you coming up and telling them about your 2 catches you had all in one season. Stay in your lane tho.  Now let's get away from the thread drift and back to the original point of the thread.  Seem we all agree Central is gonna be tough

I’m not crying I’m just stating facts. Names of coaches actually considered a coach on the staff is only names I’ve mentioned trying to defend them from people saying stupid things like “parents are calling the shots.” Yes Central will be tough with the coaches making the decisions that’s on the staff. Not sure why you think I give them any football opinions. I don’t. There’s other things to talk about than football to a football coach. I’ve said multiple times that I don’t try to tell them anything about football and have never voiced my opinion to them whatsoever but you seem to not understand that. Why can’t you understand that? I do not tell Central coaches anything about football. Period. Never have never will. I’m not clueless I know most every coach on the staff. I do not try to tell them how to coach because I can’t tell them how to coach but that is so hard for you to understand for some reason.

Replies to 2 different comments.   Get your son to read them ya.  I was trying be nice and not point out you are probably the idiot that has no clue and always trying to give the coaches advice.  They do listen to some parents who are very knowledgeable about the sport and this group of kids.  You dont seem to be one of those parents and it upsets you.   Is Reynolds  not helping  with coaching anymore?

Hilarious. Yeah he’s there helping out at practice like I said a few parents are without naming names. Sounds like he’s your source since you named a name now. He’s a good guy but he is not calling the shots. Everyone tries to put their two cents in and take credit. Next time I get to talk to one of the coaches I’ll ask them if they thanked the parents for telling them how to win and for calling the right plays all season. I don’t know many of the parents personally I’m sure they’re good guys. And I’ve never and will never try to give them advice. I’m admittedly not qualified to tell a guy who played for VT how to coach the game of football.

Your son isn't a coach.  Do you always pull your son into your internet disagreements?  I'm starting to think you are so upset  because they left you out.  I'm sure they are only taking advice from knowledgeable parents

Now you’re changing to ”taking advice,” earlier the parents were making the calls. Which is it? I talk to the coaches all the time doesn’t mean anything. Last thing I want to be is involved in anything when it comes to making decisions. I’ve got more respect for the coaches than to try and claim on here that they didn’t have anything to do with the success. And yes there are a few knowledgeable parents but I can tell you 100% that the parents are not making the calls and that’s what got all this started.

It’s crazy to think these coaches are letting the parents make the calls as you stated earlier. And no he isn’t a coach but knows more than you do.

Well it's working now. Dont shoot the messenger.

You have no clue what you’re talking about. Only parent that might possibly have an input is Tester and he’s an excellent coach and on the staff. Why start this stuff? No other parent of any player is telling this staff what to do. No pnut coach is telling them what to do. Just stop with the nonsense. The message you’re telling is wrong. Are you there at practice and in the film sessions and game planning? No I highly doubt you are and neither is your source.

Even one of the parents called in after the union  game I think  and  said Owens finally started listening to what they were telling him.  He has a great group of kids that could make most coaches look good.  But folks acting like he is now the bear Bryant of swva  football are silly

Parents can talk all they want. There’s more to the coaching staff than one man. He’s got several assistants that have done a good job this year. Nobody is calling the shots but the coaches on the staff.

Well te be fair he hadnt done much with any other group.  This groups of kids have been brought up by other coaches and from what i hear they are still helping and calling the shots.

This is funny. The youth league coaches these kids had were a really good group of guys that did great with these kids. The 8th grade guys did good but only played the best 12-14 kids which may bite them in the long run only time will tell. But by no means are any of these guys out there calling the shots on the varsity field. A few are there helping out at practice but are not making decisions on anything. As far as before now not one group he’s ever had was able to stick together like these young guys have. Every year Owens has been head coach he’s dealt with injury to his best players and half the players deciding just not to play anymore. This is the first time a group has held together this long and most are sophomores. If they’ll stick together and stay injury free and develop a line and a short passing game they’ll be hard to beat the next couple seasons. That’s a lot of developing but if they don’t teams will learn to stop the running game.

We have a better chance of beating VT than Wise does of pulling this off...

What an absolutely idiotic statement to make about a relatively small 2A school in southwest VA.  You really haven’t been to many football games and seen the teams that have Lester’s talent all over the field. Yes Graham is way better than Central but it was a 2 score game more than halfway through the 3rd. Graham has so many athletes all over the field but they’d be lucky to score against UVA-WISE. And they had a really bad year. I’m all for supporting your team but this is just ridiculous.

it was 24 0 before central scored

It was but Central scored 14 unanswered after the defense stepped up. Graham did not “let up” in the second.  A few plays go the other way in this game and the score is much closer. If you were here and watched it you’d have seen. Graham played the starters deep into the 4th. In the end to many athletes on the field for Central to handle. Maybe next year when this sophomore dominated group is juniors it’ll be a different ballgame. Hopefully.

Had Graham not let up toward the end of the 2nd, this would have been much worse.  Congrats on another region title for the puny ol’ SWD, GMen!

That’s a joke. Central gave them a good solid first half. Obviously they have more athletes all over the field. Gmen are a very good team that’s for sure. But that being said they don’t have to hold/face mask/personal foul all the time to win games. Not sure how even more penalties wasn’t called on them. If they don’t clean it up Appomattox might have their way next week. Expected a little more sportsmanship from the Gmen but maybe they just don’t care.

he didnt come close to blocking the shot/ he was behind him and pushed him in the back. go look at the film.

Doesn’t matter he’s not the one that made him hit the wall. You go look at the film Bear expert of all things Central.

The kid was doing what tj told them to do.  James Mitchell and Mac were not to dunk.  If they tried, put them into the wall.  Dont blame the kids for doing what they are coached to do.  Right or wrong.

Of course you don’t want to be dunked on. A foul on a attempted dunk is not putting someone into a wall. No they did not tell anyone to put them into the wall. Kids lie is what some don’t understand.

Regardless, I’m just here to ruffle feathers and bring up the past, all schools have it. I honestly don’t know anybody from wise other than TJ Mac, and I think a lot of him. I respect him as a person, teacher, coach and most certainly a pastor.

But the loss for central is going to be 100% off discount for the Walmart warriors, and the pack goes home with a free, easy, W. No returns.

Yes I agree that Ridgeview will win the game. Adkins is an absolute beast and I enjoy watching him play. I do think Central has some really good players and more speed this season but the line is weak. The sweep will be hard to do against a well coached team like Ridgeview.

I’m not sure what those “good group of coaches” need, either boxing lessons, or a class on sportsmanship, or maybe both, but please, let’s take the time to remember that Al Bundy scored 4 touchdowns in a single game for Polk High.

I don’t know, how far off am I?

Do these coaches have anything to do with basketball? Because I also recall Mac McLung pretty much taking a spear into the wall pads during basketball season.

No they do not. And even if they did the kid who did that to Mac transferred to Union during that season. He did that on his own.  Mac was fine thankfully and just destroyed Central by himself that game. The coaches would never tell a kid to do that. No high school coach would teach a kid to be dirty. You need to grow up and become an adult and stop with the ignorant accusations. All coaches are passionate if they care at all but no one wants to see anyone get hurt.
