I think Tazewell will win, but this is a game if Tazewell comes in after a big win and aren't ready to play they might get shocked. Lebanon has improved each week. This is not the same Lebanon team that has been going 1-9 or 2-8 the past few seasons. This is the best Lebanon team since probably 2015 and they were 4-6. Had the team got to play their full schedule of 10 gamea I would say they would go 6-4 or 5-5. Im predicting they go 3-3, and win a plus one game, and finish 4-3. They've got some athletes who can hurt you. They have also been fairly clean penalty wise. If they can avoid costly turnovers then it, could be closer than most would think.
Tazewell 35

If Tazewell shows up and plays like they can.
If Tazewell sleeps through it....im predicting a shocker....

I lived in Wise and was a sophomore that year, we celebrated but there wasn't a parade down main street. Tazewell beat a team they hadn't in 18 years. That 99 Kelly team hadn't beat PV for a longer period of time, and ended a 34 game win streak. That kelly team also lost the next week to Clintwood 35 to 6.
Congrats to Tazewell on a great win. It's good to celebrate but don't overlook teams the next week or so or you may get surprised by another team. They play Lebanon next im definitely thinking Tazewell wins easy, but like the 99 Kelly and PV game showed anything can happen. PV overlooked an improved Kelly team that year and it cost them. This Lebanon team has some athletes who could hurt Tazewell if they aren't ready to play.

Maybe they will pull it all together eventually.
-
They need to put the score and time on the screen. It would make it easier to watch.
-
Listening to them is giving me a headache lol
-
The sound quality on the NFHS network for Richlands and Tazewell is terrible. The commentators need to fix their sound.

Looks like Virginia High is young, but they have some talent. I'd say in a year or so they could be back on track. I am hoping the Pioneers are more competitive in the Hogo district annually. The Pioneers had such a good program for years, maybe the move to a lower classification will help them avoid their annual 2-8 style seasons that they have had over the past few years in the SWD.
-
Lebanon actually could have put up 2 more touchdowns. One was long pass that was called back. The other could have been following a interception return to the 3 but the young Pioneer player fumbled at the end of the game.

I thought this game was going to be much closer.
Pioneers win 34 to 7

Im taking the Pioneers in a close one.

What are your thoughts?

I was concerned the Pioneers would get dominated on the line. The Pioneers still have a lot of work to do it appears. Congrats Graham on a good game so far.
-
I know Lebanon looked better against Honaker, but playing Graham close is a tall order. Lebanon played Richlands tough to end last season. We will see how far the Pioneers have come. Graham is still more talented and better overall then the Pioneers.

I agree, for the most part I don't think Lebanon will be a push over this year. Their backfield of Ward, Hertig, Houchins, and Tatum is pretty tough. They also have a couple other good athletes who made plays.

Could be 21 to 0, but a lebanon fumble in the red zone on their 1st drive cost them.
I know Honaker is young. Lebanon looks improved so far. The addition of a few athletes who either haven't played in a couple seasons or just came out are helping them. Houchins and Hertig look to help a lot with Ward in the backfield. Hertig at QB looks like a good move. He's quick if he gets outside watch out.
Im not saying they will challenge Graham, Richlands, or Tazewell, but I could see them going 3-3 or 4-2 if they pull off an upset.
