I am going to give the Mountain 7 a slim chance to sweep the SWD.
Virginia High will be tough for Central
I think Union will beat Graham
RV and GC should win unless one doesn't show up.
-
All 3 of these matchups have combined for a 10 point differential.
Who prevails this one?
-
2nd Round of the Mountain 7 Tournament is Wednesday featuring
A Saturday rematch between GC and Ridgeview
Union vs Abingdon
John Battle and Lee are officially out.
Central will play Virginia High in the first round of Regions.
-
Yeah luckily the GC/JB game ended early so I could watch this one. I would say Collins has an argument against Ramsey numbers wise. I’d love to see his numbers as he’s been close to several triple doubles this year. I thought the refs were a little shaky on this one both ways. At times they weren’t calling anything and at times they called everything. Collins getting in foul trouble significantly impacted the game. Those were some questionable calls. In my opinion, these two teams will have some close and contested battles over the next so many years as both teams are very young.
Central will head to Virginia high for the first round in the Region.
Union can move up
-
-
These two split in the regular season. Both teams are young. Freshman and Sophomore loaded teams. This won’t be the last meeting between the two teams. Winner gets at least the 3 seed in the Region. Who wins this time around?
-
These two teams split in the regular season. Who wins this
-
I thought where GC beat Abingdon and Ridgeview went 0-2 against them, that was the tie break.
-
What is at stake tonight...
M7 Conference first round (What is set):
Abingdon- Bye
#5 Central @ #4 Union
The only scenario where Gate City isn't the #2 seed is if GC loses to Union tonight and Ridgeview beats Abingdon. GC hold would hold any tiebreaker over Ridgeview.
Lee and Battle are battling for 6th seed tonight, if battle wins, they force a tiebreak (Coin Toss?) if battle loses, Lee gets the 6th seed.
-
I done some digging through social media and online newspapers and counted 30+ Point performances of players in M7 this year. (Side Note: if it was not posted by their pages or an article, then I may be off, but this is what I have came up with)
UNOFFICIAL:
30+ Point Performances:
Collins (Central) - 6
Robinette (Ridgeview) - 4
Ramsey (Abingdon) - 4
Hammonds (Lee) - 1
Pendergraft (Lee) - 1
Garrett (Gate City) - 1
40+ Point Perfomances:
Robinette (Ridgeview)- 3
Collins (Central)- 1
-
Tomorrow's Last regular season M7 games:
GC @ Union
Abingdon @ Ridgeview
Central @ John Battle
-
There is nothing set just yet due to the tournament and the possibility of upsets
-
Only the 1 Seed gets the bye for the M7. All the other top seeds host the first round then after monday, all games will be @ Abingdon. I see what you're saying though
-
Pretty sure something changed to where H2H doesn't matter when in play for the 1 seed. However it does matter for 2nd seed and below.
Weird, I know
-
Congrats to the Abingdon Falcons on clinching the 1 seed last night due to Ridgeview's loss against Union and their win over John Battle.
1st is set with Abingdon.
2nd/3rd is still in for play. Pretty sure GC holds tiebreaker with win over Abingdon.
Gate City (8-3) Play Union Friday
Ridgeview (8-3) Play Abingdon Friday
Union is 4th
Central is 5th
Lee (2-10)
John Battle (1-10)
If battle were to win friday, I have no idea who holds tiebreaker, Does anyone else know?
Probable M7 Conference tourney first round-Monday matchups.
Abingdon- Bye
John Battle @ GC
Lee @ Ridgeview
Central @ Union
-
Union Def. Ridgeview 68-65
Abingdon Def. John Battle 51-27
Gate City Def. Lee 84-40
-
Tonight's Games for M7
Ridgeview @ Union
Abingdon @ John Battle
Gate City @ Lee High
Central- Bye
-
I updated my post so it should be accurate now.
-
It’s not that it’s inaccurate, it’s just incomplete. I forgot to mention the Ridgeview game. That is my bad.
Pretty sure Central would win tie breaker because them beating GC and if the tiebreak scenario is needed, that means GC would have beat Union twice.
-
Yes, Abingdon is out due to 3A.
Ridgeview/Union/GC/Central have all clinched the region tournament. Those will be the 4 teams, we just don’t know what seed they will be yet.
-
Also the Mountain 7 Region Teams are clinched, seeding isn’t though.
1) Ridgeview
2) GC
3) Union/Central
4) Central/Union
I don’t think GC can pass up Ridgeview unless they have a good conference tournament outing.
-
Mountain 7 Scenarios:
If Ridgeview wins out and beats Abingdon this week, they tie for first place and will force a seeding playoff game at a neutral site. If Abingdon wins, they clinch 1.
Pretty sure Gate City is stuck at 3rd
Union clinches 4th with 1 win over either of GC or Ridgeview. Union is no less than 5th.
Central can clinch 4th over union if they beat John Battle and Union loses to GC and Ridgeview. This would result in a 4/5 tie and I think the tiebreak would go to Central due to their win over GC. Central is no less than 5th.
Lee has 6th spot unless Battle beats Central and Lee loses to GC, then there will be a tie breaker, I’m not sure who has it though.
-
Not sure about M7 JV Standings but..
John Battle’s JV is pretty good
Gate city is gate city
Central’s JV is pretty good as well
-
M7 Schedule 2/3:
Union @ Abingdon
Lee @ Central
Battle @ Gate City
Ridgeview Bye
-
Finals:
Union def. Battle in OT 43-37
Abingdon def. Central 76-56
Ridgeview def. Lee 91-86
