Tom Rife didn’t push anyone out. He stepped up after Aaron Lowe was fired, he has absolutely nothing to do with the shit show Aaron Lowe caused and continues to keep stirred up now. Ricky Lawrence, the white Tshirt dude, is salty because he wasn’t hired as the boys coach. 
 
It’s common knowledge that Tom is only coaching this year, he had no intention of returning. The treatment he and his assistants are receiving from Aaron Lowes army of loyalist is shameful and they do not deserve that, they stood up and lead these girls to a successful season despite all the bullshit.  The minute Ricky Lawrence decided to get up out of his seat, stand behind the players during the game and run his mouth, was the minute he decided to take away from his daughters and all the girls success and make it about him. He’s robbed his daughter and all the girls the opportunity to enjoy their accomplishments. Parents need to stay in the stands. Period. 

hey guys. I'm going ahead and say I'm sorry that I haven't been on here for quite some time, with work and every thing else going on. I haven't had a chance to reply to some SWVA Football topics. In all, again I apologies. hopefully i can get back into the swing of things and start replying to some football topics

I just watched this one today. Props to GC. Again, props to GC who is getting better and rapidly improving, but.......I ain't picking them to beat Union if they meet again come playoff time. Gate City scored 3 times on 3 weird long plays. I didn't see Gate City driving up and down the field effectively. I know...big plays ARE part of the game and they count, but this wasn't like a superior freak athlete exploded. The first one was a great catch in the corner of the endzone on a well covered receiver and it was more of a desperate type pass for GC and it somehow worked. Another was a misjudgement by the DB for Union who overplayed the route and when he missed the tackle, nobody was there. It was just weird. The other one was a great athletic play where the GC kid made people miss, but it was also poor tackling by Union.
Again, credit GC who got the W and those 3 big plays decided the game and they do count, but at least 2 of them were borderline bad luck for Union in my opinion. Again, credit GC, but I don't think they are within 10 points of Union if they meet in the playoffs. Only my opinion though. It was just weird how GC scored. I don't think they replicate that again if they play Union in the playoffs

Oh my goodness one must go to Clinchport and indulge to fully appreciate it:) Ii's a big 'ol bowl of Fritos smothered in homemade chili,shredded cheeses and jalepenos. It is by far the most tasty concessions item around.

Numbers are up at cove. Kids are doing some great fundamental things. They look like a young hungry team that will be in and win some games because they're consistent at small things often overlooked.   Glad to see them headed back in a good direction.  Kudos to some great coaching going on.
