  1. Why would Ricker come to Wise? Outside of playing football at UVa-Wise he has no connection. Throw in he's from Battle and so is his wife, it makes little sense. Also, nobody has ever had long term success at Wise in football. They've ran off every good football coach they have ever had dating back to Riggs.

  2. First time Union and GC met, ended up being a 4-5 point possession for GC in the second half. They won the game by one point if memory serves. Other than Wise, Union has dominated everyone else in the league.

  3. Bostic's Boys beating Fugate's Favorites should come as no surprise. If not for a phantom technical foul, Union would have won at GC and won the M7 regular season title for the third time in four years. Alas, a stripped shirt interjected themselves into the game and Fugate's Favorites won a one possession game over the Bears in GC.

Union still really only has itself to blame, allowing Wise to play slow down 1940's basketball against them has burned them every time they have played. Kudos to Donnie Jordan and Isaiah McAmis for mucking it up when those two play. Outside of Ethan Collins those two are the Real MVPs of the Warriors this season.

    Playoffs will be fun...

  4. Bears win another close one, 41-38 over Honaker. Wasn't very pretty basketball but a W is a W. Union was able to get out in transition just enough to win. Bears have a serious rebounding problem, when the younger Anderson went out with foul trouble tonight, Honaker took control of the game inside. Union is going to have to get more rebounding out of it's guards.

  5. Union has a shot. First year coach, injuries, the Huff situation, etc. it’ll take time. That being said, they ain’t half bad. Reyshawn and Kam are capable of combing for 40-50 points.

Team can’t rebound. They really need Bunch and Huff back on the boards. If Union had been able to rebound they would’ve won tonight by 10+. I’d expect a similar game tomorrow against East.

  6. RV football has turned into what Central boys basketball was. Pretty competitive but they cry so much and complain the better officials won’t call the game. Then you get inferior officials and it mucks up the game and gives them a shot against superior opponents. Pretty bad job by the zebras tonight.

  7. Union finishing third among Class 2 schools and getting nobody, can't see that happening. I'd put Reyshawn Anderson the team, he was Union's best all around player and that was pretty evident in what was an otherwise tail kicking at Graham.

Blues left a solid 10-12 points on the charity stripe. Can’t do that Thursday.

**update, Blues were 15-28 from the line. Can’t leave 13 points on the court.

It won’t happen Thursday. No way they go to the line anywhere close to that again. It didn’t cost Union the game but the officials in that game weren’t very good.

  9. Outside of Ramsey, Collins is the best player in the M7.

Central has to be kicking itself going down the mountain tonight. They never seem to beat Union if talent is close and tonight was no different.

No exaggeration, I would guess Wise shot 70-75% in the first half and was behind at halftime.

Union took care of the ball and played their best game of the season when they had to have it.

I think Collins missed one shot, the entire game. Kid is a special player and he is money at the foul line.

Bunch for Union had his best game and Huff made some crucial free throws.

I’d love for someone to explain to me how Union got two T’s and Central got zero.

What a great game. Wise up two possessions under 4 to play and they couldn’t hold it.

I think Union has now won six of the last 7 in this rivalry.

It’s not the same without TJ but some of the juice came back tonight.
