  1. The 20 yard line was the correct spot...in high school ANY kick that goes over the goal line is a touchback. The officials were about to screw up by putting the ball where Stone KICKED it from.

  3. They've also stolen the "orange effect" as well...they call it "orange fever".

  5. VT plays "sorry teams"??? Let's see #1 USC #4 Miami #9 Virginia #18 West Virginia (used to be #6... ) #23 Maryland #25 N.C. State I would hate to see what a "tough" schedule would look like...
  6. I'm not going to start anything...I was just missing the "jawwing" that always used to take place...
  7. Actually...it's about CLASS...something WVU and their fans know nothing about...
  8. this is the week of the Graham-Grundy game. For the last couple of years, the board received more action during this one week than any other. What's up with EVERYONE...is no one feeling confident about their team securing a victory this Friday??? Jimmy??? Dookie??? Anyone???
  9. bigorange66...how do you know it was GW PLAYERS??? Could just be GW fans...or even RR fans trying to fire RR up. Without indisputable proof, you can't make accusations like that...
  10. B_R...I remember that game at Richlands as well. The Richlands line fired about a half second early on every play and never once was flagged. I also remember a terrible PI no-call on a long third down that cost Bluefield...I got into a slight verbal altercation with someone over that.
  11. The ACC gave Tech its schedule for the ACC games...they had no say so in the matter. And yes Tech did play JMU last year...it was a "money game" to help support an in-state school. Why doesn't WVU play their in-state schools????
  12. Or a game at Nelson Field...
  13. Bad idea...voted down by THE COMMITTEE!

    AP poll

You should have seen the ratings before I contacted the VHSL and told them they were incorrect. There would have been LOTS of complaints if those had been seen. But, in their defense, they did get a new program and are still working out some "glitches".
  15. The last time they played was in 2002. Richlands was probably the better team at 7-2 going into the game against Bluefield at Mitchell Stadium. Bluefield was 5-4 and needing a win to make the WV AA playoffs. Bluefield got the benefit of SEVERAL generous calls by the officials (one official in particular who flagged Richlands on what seemed like every play...some of the Bluefield fans were even making comments in the stands about the calls) allowing the Beavers to pull out a 17-14 "victory". Bluefield got on a roll after that bombing #8 seed Webster Co. in the first round 63-6, then knocking off #1 James Monroe 3-0 (avenging an earlier 30-7 butt kicking by the Mavs), followed by another shutout of #4 Wayne 10-0, only to fall to #2 Poca in the Championship.
  16. I'll bet you FSU won't beat Tech THIS YEAR... they don't play this season.
  17. I have to agree with B_R on this one. When the series was dropped there was talk of a merger between the Southwest and the Highlands (and we all know that Lee shot that one in the butt). Bluefield was told by Richlands that they no longer had room on their schedule for Bluefield. Using "the officials" as an excuse could be a legit reason (especially knowing what happened the last time they played) however, in this case, that isn't the case.

    AP poll

There are nine voters, they received 3 first place votes and a total of 30 points which means SIX voters didn't even have them in their top 10...that's NUTS!!!
  19. Just trying to make conversation...
  20. Anyone else having trouble accessing their sites and message boards???
  21. Anyone else having trouble accessing their sites and message boards???
  22. Who is hiding from FSU??? Hell, VT has beaten Miami more times in the last ten years than Miami has beaten Tech...and how many times in a row has Miami beaten Florida St.??? Bring those Garnet and Gold clad chumps to Lane Stadium...then we'll see who runs and hides. At least 4th or 5th in the ACC will get a bowl game...4th or 5th in the new Little East will get you laughed at. And besides, being a doormat in hoops is nothing new to VT...we were that already in the BE.
  23. They're West Virginia, they're West Virginia, They're the Queens of the Little East. They load their schedule with the weakest teams and they think they are a BEAST. They beat upon Dolly Madison, and the Pirates of ECU... Then they came into Lane Stadium And we sent their ass home BLACK AND BLUE! GOOO!!! HOKIES GO!!!
  24. This game will be a battle of speed vs. size. If its a dry field...advantage Bluefield. If its a pig pen...advantage Martinsburg. Bluefield will have to mix up the run and pass to keep Martinsburg off balance on defense. Both teams have explosive offenses, so this game will come down to who makes the fewest mistakes/who converts on the other teams mistakes and special teams. Bluefield is pretty good at both converting on opponents mistakes and special teams...great kicking game with Stone and a return team second to none with Perdue and Davis. However, M'burg can offset the return game by controling the ball and scoring points on offense. Martinsburg's defense gave up A LOT of points to a less than mediocre Princeton team last week. With that being said, I think Bluefield will score their share of points barring turnovers and penalties. Defensively, Bluefield MUST get penetration against a massive offensive line and put pressure on M'burg's QB. If he has time, he will pick the Bluefield's secondary apart. If the Beavers do get substantial pressure on him, mistakes (turnovers) will follow. Once again, however, I think Martinsburg will score their share of points as well. Bluefield can't get down on themselves if they give up a score or two early and/or get behind...and the coaches can not afford to get "conservative" with the play calling at this point either. I honestly see this game as being a shoot-out with the last team to have the ball either winning the game or having a chance to win the game on a late score. Predicition... Lucas Stone connects on his first FG of the year with less than a minute to play...Beavers win, 45-42.
