  1. Here we go again, pass pass pass pass....
  2. If I didn't have such short hair I'd be pulling it out...
  3. Beaver runs the ball this possession four straight times and SCORE...21-12 after missed two point attempt.
  4. If Beaver doesn't score on this possession the game is over, period. Too, too, too many blown opportunities...
  5. I'm having flashbacks to 2008 with all the passing and no attempt at running...:(
  6. The empty backfield continues and thus far no attempts to run the ball. There's plenty of time to run the ball and mix things up. Bluefield will not win this game unless they start running the football...
  7. I wonder what the chances are we might see Edwards in at QB in the second half at some point? The kid is a significantly better passer, but obviously lacks the experience. The coaches didn't throw in there earlier in the year against Oak Hill for the heck of it.
  8. If anyone can turn it around it's the Bluefield staff, but I'm sure they'd readily admit they were out-coached in the first half. And Bluefield will receive the second half kickoff...
  9. Couldn't agree more. I don't know what the solution is, but the offense needs to find itself and the defense start playing like they have been. The first series of the second half is going to be the biggest, most important series of the season to this point.
  10. Fox has hardly touched the ball offensively in the past 4-5 games, but tonight he's suddenly the workhorse and fumbles inside the 10-yardline, wow! Where's the fade to Woodrum with him being defended one-on-one by a player nearly a foot shorter? Unless something changes significantly in the second half Bluefield's season is going to end tonight. They're getting outplayed and out-coached at this point...
  11. Poor kickoff coverage gave them great field position.
  12. Bluefield 6-0 after 78-yard TD pass to Steptoe...
  13. Auburn showed me a lot coming back like they did on the road after trailing 24-0. I fully expected 'Bama to win today and after the first quarter it looked like a done deal. If they get past South Carolina next week they're obviously going to be playing for the national title and rightfully so.
  14. There's a GREAT night of high school football ahead on both sides of the state-line; it's a football feast. Several state championship caliber teams will see their season end tonight. Hopefully the Beavers are fortunate enough to live to play another week and all the local teams represent themselves well.
  15. There have been injunctions filed for various reasons. One of my favorites occurred during the regional cheerleading competition last December. Tolsia High filed the injunction after they had been docked points for performing an illegal move. The loss of points caused Tolsia to drop in the regional finishing order and thus prevented them from competing at the state tournament. Tolsia argued they were not aware that move in question was illegal. When they were granted the injunction in court the SSAC suspended the "AA" state cheer competition for nearly five months until the issue was resolved. If that pathetic argument can receive an injunction then anything can. Here's a quick wrap-up of the story: http://www.wsaz.com/newswestvirginia/headlines/78891947.html
  16. Multiple court injunctions have been filed and won against the SSAC over the past several years; some with a lot less foundation to stand on this than this case. I would expect the same to occur this time around as well...
  17. Actually, the injuction has already been filed by the parents. This from the Charleston Daily Mail: "Beckley-based attorney Ben Salango will file for an injunction in Kanawha Circuit Court this week to fight the one-game suspensions issued to Tyler Harris, Peirria Henry, Emerson Gagnon and Trevand Reese."
  18. It should be mentioned that no one was tasered despite initial reports. According to reports, South Charleston's top players including the star QB and receiver are among the five being suspended. The parents of the players are supposedly in the process of filing a court injunction to allow the them to play on Friday night. This isn't going away anytime soon...
  19. Because the officials lost complete control and it became a situation where additional assistance was required to handle the melee. Both benches completely spilled onto the field, not a few players here or there, but the entire roster for both teams. I would certainly hope any law enforcement and/or security presence at any game when something like this occurs wouldn't simply stand around and watch. Not when individuals are being punched, kicked, etc. and you have people wearing equipment that could inflict potentially serious injury.
  20. None of us were there, so we shouldn't pass judgment on the security personnel's decisions. This is what can happen when you act like a bunch a classless cavemen and demonstrate not an ounce of sportsmanship. South Charleston's back-to-back state title defense is going to be in serious jeopardy next week if they have key players suspended for this. George Washington is the only team to have beaten them this season.
  21. Bluefield 54-8 -- FINAL The Beavers will travel to "AA" #1 seed Ravenswood next Friday night.
  22. As long as Leggett keeps getting the ball it's possible for Bluefield to score a few more times. I'll say Beaver scores maybe one more time...
  23. Leggett 95-yard TD run, Bluefield 48-0
