  1. Not to sound negative or anything, because I don't know if he actually knew the girl was only 15 or not, but nonetheless with the bad publicity he is getting from it for his actions he may find himself somewhere besides VT next year. Most schools unless their name is Ohio State University don't put up with kids who bring negative publicity to their name. Marcus Vick has alot of talent, and I hope if he knew the girl was only 15 that he get's his act together and start using his brain before he loses a shot at making it big.
  2. WVVA has been a joke since I was in high school. They practically set up a camp outside of Mount View High School, so they could report every single negative thing that happened day to day. The biggest joke is when something positive took place they somehow always failed to report it. Everyone got so sick of them being at school with us that we refer to them as channel sick news lol.
  3. I believe there's something underhanded going on between Wheeling and the SSAC. I don't think it would be beyond them to buy the votes needed to win the rights to host the Supersix. The sad part is that it all boils down to money rather than what's best for the kids and gives each team an equal playing field, so that no team has an advantage over their other, because of field conditions.
  4. Most people already know that the head coach of just about every team doesn't call the plays, but since they are the head coach when they allow another coach to make those decisions it's a judgement call on their part, so in the end they are the ones held responsible for anything that goes wrong. I'm not talking about any head coach in particular, I'm just poining out that when you become a head coach you take on the actions of your players and your assistants, so taking the blame for the bad times comes with the job, just as reaping the rewards when you have a successful year comes with the territory.
  5. WVU just had a form of field rurf installed last year I believe. It was supposedly made from the rubber soles that nike uses for their shoes.
  6. Wondering if any of you ever listen to the WV statewide sportsline show every weeknight at 6pm? Last night they had Hayden on for the final 10 minutes of the show, and miraculously they weren't taking any calls lol. Hayden did say that he had received numerous nasty calls about the pig pen I mean field at Wheeling. He even mentioned that several people accused him and the SSAC of getting kickbacks from Wheeling for allowing them to Host the Supersix, but he denied it all and said that the SSAC doesn't make any more money by having the Supersix at Wheeling then they would by having the Supersix anywhere else. He said the reason Wheeling's bid has won the rightsover the past 10 years is, because they've agreed to reimburse all the schools travel and lodging expenses that come to Wheeling for the Supersix. He also stated that the Wheeling field was in great shape the day before the Bluefield vs Poca game, so the bad weather and terrible field conditions weren't something that they expected to happen. Basically from what all he said the way it sounded to me is that the Supersix will stay at Wheeling. I don't think he really cares about the field conditions or kids playing in those games, because with the conditions the games were played in the kids were lucky not to get seriously injured. Hayden can talk all he wants about weather supposing to be a factor, but if that's so why isn't the superbowl or Natinal Championship game in College played in places where weather could be a factor? The reason is, because unlike Hayden the people making the decisions know that weather conditions could give 1 team an unfair advantage over the other, and in a championship game they want both teams to play on a neutral field that doesn't give 1 team an edge over the other, so whoever wins the game can truly be said to be the better team.
  7. I agree I think Lemley knows that he gained an advantage with the field conditions in Wheeling, but like anyone else he's too smart to admit to it. When he was asked why he chose not to play Mount View at Laidley Field he gave bogus answers to that question every time. Anyone from this area that was familiar with Mount View would tell you the reason was due to MV's speed, but Lemley made it out like he was just preparing his team to play in grass at Wheeling, and the Poca fans all tried to say the reason the game was played at Poca is because at Laidley the school had to give part of their profits from the game to Capital High School or the owner of Laidley Field. I mean we all know those were bogus excuses that don't hold water, because if what the Poca fans claim to be the reason, I'd like to know why they played Ravenswood there the week before? The SSAC won't do anything about the matter, but the field conditions at Wheeling during just about every supersix has given certain teams an unfair advantage over their opponents. Another Mr.Hayden should ask John Madden why it is that the Superbowl in the NFL and the National Championship game/s in the NCAA are always played in good weather states?
  8. No disrespect to anyone else meant, but there are a few good reasons why the supersix should be played in good conditions. 1. The purpose of the designated site for the supersix is not meant to give any participating team an advantage over their opponent, but alot of people have either overlooked this point or just ignored it, but if you notice not all teams play the style of football that prospers in a mudhole. I mean for example a team like Bluefield relies heavily on their speed on offense and defense to win games for them, where a team like Poca who claims to be the same way clearly isn't they are more of a smashmouth team that relies more on overpowering their opponents. Now who do you think the mud gave an unfair advantage to? I'm not sayong Poca didn't deserve to win, because if I were it would be a lie, but I am saying the conditions of Wheeling did hurt Bluefield's style of football more so than Poca's. 2.Another reason the supersix should be played in good field conditions is, because there are college scouts that attend the games looking at these kids, and when they have to play in a mudhole they really don't get to show just how good they really are. In most that have the weather we have at this time of year elect to play their championship games on turf, because even in wet conditions it still allows a player to show more of their ability than playing in a mudhole does. 3. 1 more point it's unfair to force a team that has relied heavily on their speed in just about every game they've played to expect them to change their style of play , because of field conditions. I mean if you're going to do that you might as well make up a rule and say no team is allowed to play a style of football that relies on their speed advantage to win games.
  9. At least next year looks like Poca won't be back in Wheeling lol. I can't stand the arrogane of their fans not to mention some of them show no class at all. The only team with fans worse than Poca is Scott, which is funny, because they all still believe they were the best team lol.
  10. No disrespect to Bluefield's fans, players, and coaches, but instead of putting blame on somebody I think you all need to think about this. I've been a Mount View fan for over 15 years now and we've only been to the title game one time, but we've had the talent to have been to at least 7 itle games, so how would you all feel if Bluefield was in that situation? Be proud of your whole team, but also take time to realize just how good your program is even in losing the game last night, because there are other teams who would've been happy just to be in Wheeling last night whether they won or lost.
  11. Yeah Poca is the Ohio State Buckeyes of West Virginia High School football, because they always seem to get the the lucky breaks. I mean last week in the game with MV they were up 7-0 at the half, and as luck would have it we had 3 of our best players injured and not be able to return for the 2nd half. I know they won 24-2, but I still have to think if the Vineyard brothers and Michael Helm had been able to play the 2nd half the game would've been close enough for either team to win. I know right now it seems like this may have been Bluefield's best shot at a title for a while, but I still think Bluefield will be good next year. I know Bluefield will be losing some really good football players, but Bluefield normally doesn't have alot of trouble replacing talent.
  12. I was surprised that on Bluefield's last possesion of the 1st quarter that they didn't attempt a field goal on the 4th and 3 play where Martin threw an incomplete pass in the endzone. I know the conditions were sloppy, but with Stone's leg it surprised me they didn't give him the shot at the field goal. Bluefield had a good season, but I know to the players and fans of Bluefield it's a big disappointment. I wouldn't be surprised to see Bluefield back in Wheeling next year, but I would be surprised to see the dots there.
  13. Unfortunately I didn't make it up to watch the game in person, but I did manage to see it on our local cable company's message channel. Watching the game on tape does take alot away from the feeling you get of being there in person, but I can honestly say without the loss of the 3 players I mentioned Poca wouldn't have scored 24 points, but imjuries are a part of the game, and to the luck of Poca they managed to get just about every break lol. I mean the field conditions, injuries, turnovers and just about everything else went against Mount View. Poca overall as a team wasn't that impressive at least not from watching on tape, but Santmyer is legit. If Bluefield's defense can manage not to get caught out of position on Poca's misdirection plays the Dots will get gnawed on the whole game lol. Poca will rely on Bluefield's defense to overpursue in order for Santmyer to have a big game, but if Bluefield's players manage to not get caught out of position they should stop Santmyer.
  14. Thanks for the congrats, this was MV's best team since the 91 team that lost in the Semis to Wheeling Park. Even though they lost to Poca I think the players have nothing to be ashamed of, because the game was really close at halftime, and if MV's starting hb/lb,fb/lb, and qb/cb not gotten injured and had to miss the whole 2nd half the results of the game may have been alot different. When both Vineyards and Helm went out of the game that is when Santmyer was able to take over the game. The Poca fans won't admit to it, but had they lost Santmyer to injury for the whole 2nd half they would've been the ones hurting. If Bluefield contains Santmyer and forces Poca's qb to make plays the Beavers will roll, because their qb can't seem to hold on to the ball, but win or lose I don't believe Poca will be make it back to Wheeling next year, because they don't have another Santmyer to carry them.
  15. The mud is about the only thing on the field tonight that could slow Bluefield down other than themselves lol. I think this game could get ugly pretty fast Bluefield rolls in this one.
