You're missing the point... the classification tag is no longer applied to districts. They exist solely for scheduling and travel purposes. Districts as we knew them no longer exist. Conferences (which do not apply to football) consist of like size schools and will determine who goes on to the next round of playoffs.

Travel wise you really can't beat the new SWD (and it will be called the SWD). The trip from Tazewell to Bristol is no more than 90 minutes and the other three schools are all on the same route. And travel/scheduling is all the districts are for now. They have no bearing on anything else.

Playoffs will be East vs East and West vs West up until the semi-finals when they crossover (East #1 vs West #2, West #1 vs East #2) then the two winners will meet for the state championship. That way the possibility exists for East vs East or West vs West at the end.

Uggla has struggled but he's also contributed. He led the league in walks last year and has been among the team leaders in every offensive category except batting average. I don't see him being benched. Especially in this lineup where there will be little pressure on him. He's going to bat 7th. He doesn't have to be the big bat there.

I don't know. Sounds like a pretty good deal for Bourn. $48 million for four years. Not what he was originally hoping for but still pretty good for a 30 year old who's greatest asset is speed. When this contract is up his speed will have declined considerably.

Only if we ALL like that team. The idea that one needs some connection in order to justify their reason for liking a team is Ridiculous. The only requirement needed to be a fan of a team is that you LIKE that team. Doesn't matter where they are or where you've lived, worked, studied, "been to", or whatever.

More bat? This could be the most deadly offense the Braves have ever had. Power at every spot except lead-off. Speed, defense, pitching. It's all there. Loaded lineup. Loaded bench. Loaded rotation. Loaded bullpen. Frank Wren has done a great job this winter and this trade is the power move that makes the Braves serious Word Series contenders.

I saw that L/R split too and the more I learn about Johnson the more I think he will end up as the starter. His overall numbers last year were quite good and were in line with Prado's. Francisco can provide RH power off the bench but like you said, he's a defensive liability. He might become more useful down the road though as I think one year of daily inter-league play is all it's going to take to get the DH debate going again. In my opinion both leagues will have it sooner than later.

I hate to lose Prado but if that's the deal I will take it. Fills the holes at LF and 3B and gives them the most potent lineup in the league. Simmons will have to lead off but I think he will be just fine.

Here's the thing with Bourn... I can handle 150 k's from a guy who's job is to drive in runs. Power hitters are going to strikeout. That's just the way it is. What I can't handle is 150 k's from a guy who's job is to get on base. If he want's the kind of contract he's asking for he needs way fewer k's and a lot more walks. I'm sorry but the guy is overrated.

I don't think it will happen if Arizona insists on Graham. They're not giving him up.
