  1. [ QUOTE ] I can't stress enough the fact that last year's beaver-graham game will be COMPLETELY different from our upcoming game ... call it what you want, the G-men are pissed off and want revenge on the bluefield beavers, and the 4 Southwest district teams that also had their way with them. August 1 is just a date. For Graham and Graham football, the 2005 season started within minutes of their loss to Tazewell. Be ready for the G-men. It is a totally different ball game now. The new class of G-men have a different outlook on this upcoming season, in that they truly CARE about winning and losing. For the next two years, you might not see a Graham superstar on the front page as you have in the past, #2, but you will see the Maroon and Gold with a W. [/ QUOTE ] Okay now I am really frightened....the G-Men are gonna take next years game serious.....who could ever imagine such a thing? No use for the Beavers to even show up I suppose.
  2. [ QUOTE ] For the past couple week i have lived in the weight room lifting and curling im am so pumped to bring that stae championship back to Richlands but i know it is going to take a lot of work and detication and i am prepared to make that commitment i want that championship so bad. We all most had it this year but it just wasnt are year but next year are year or not that championship is coming back to Richlands if i have anything to say about it. [/ QUOTE ] You may want to spend a bit more time in the classroom too, especially English class.
  3. Bump BHS 69- Wayne 24 2004 AA State Champs
  4. Just wanted to bump this post to the top of the list to show how little Mavsrock knows. LMBO
  5. Well it is official Weir won the game Saturday and Sandman is an idiot.... Good Luck in Wheeling this weekend to the Red Riders and to the GMen as they take on Gretna in the semis.....what color is the sky in your world, Sandman?
  6. Sandman....Weir had about twenty coaches pretty sure at least one of them was watching the clock with game on the line don't you think...give it a rest would you. Weir lost BHS won...get over it.
  7. [ QUOTE ] i'm glad all you people think its going to be a blowout b/c it will be that much sweeter when the riders are headed back north to weirton on i77 thinking about going to wheeling island and you guys are still at mitchell stadium thinking, man that's three years in a row we haven't brought home the title!!!haha...weir will win this ball game!!!im glad you don't give them a chance, b/c noone did last year and remember what happened!!! [/ QUOTE ] Well at least the Beavers got there the past two years more than I can say for your Red Riders. But keep talking here Weirfootball, ask those James Monroe fans what talking smack gets you when facing the Beavers, after all they will be sitting over there with you on Saturday. The Beavers season could end this Saturday if they are not ready to play, but I honestly think that our young men will rise to the challenge and and you guys will have to buy a ticket to the Island to watch us win number 8 next Friday night. They have rose to the challenge all year, and I full expect them to finish the job....12 down 2 more to go.
  8. Wow sounds like a great way to meet hot chicks....these Tazewell guys have it figured out.
  9. I for one could care less who you pull for in the Bluefield Weir game. I suppose since you are more comfortable as a loser you will be happy to be sitting over on the Weir side this Saturday with the other losers, but let me ask you this. Do you really think that Bluefield could not have beaten you just as badly if they had wanted to? That game had the potential to be just as ugly except for the fact that unlike your new found friends from up North, Bluefield had the class to call off the dogs when the game was in hand. Have you even considered that the reason your team performed so poorly was the mere fact that they knew that should they win they would have to go up to Bluefield and face the Beavers again. Why don't you go ask your coaching staff or the players who they think will win this Saturday. I am willing to bet they may have a whole different take on things.
  10. This is getting good and it is only Monday. I feel good that the James Monroe people are picking Weir, we all know what they know about football, at least most who post on this board. If you put their collective knowledge regarding football in a matchbox it would look like a BB in a boxcar. Glad to see some Weir folks posting here, ought to make for a spirited discussion on the board. However, one word of caution about what you guys did to James Monroe, almost anybody with a half decent passing game could kill that bunch. Rusty went 10-13 and 312 yards against them and threw three TD's the shortest of which was 51 yards and did not play the whole game. So I would not get too worked up about whopping the highly overrated Mavericks if I were you guys. The Beavers know this will be a stren test on Saturday, make no mistake about that. If they are not ready to play the season will end on John Chamra field. But these seniors have been battle tested and I think they well rise to the occassion here and take care of business. They dedicated the field this year for the legendry Coach John Chamara, and they will play with pride on Saturday as I do not think they want to give up their dream on that playing surface. But with an opponent like Weir that will be exactly what may happen if they do not prepare themselves for battle this week. Guess we will see about four o'clock Saturday afternoon, and nothing posted on this Board will change what happens out there between the white lines. I will go out on a limb and say that if Bluefield plays up to their talent level there is no way they will lose this game, but if they give the same effort they gave this past Saturday the season will come to an abrupt and painful end.
  11. Mavsrock wrote: "I'm not saying this will happen, but don't be shocked if James Monroe not only wins Saturday, but wins big." Wow I bet those words don't taste too good today. Huh, Mavsrock?
  12. [ QUOTE ] don't be shocked if James Monroe not only wins Saturday, but wins big. [/ QUOTE ] Shocked??? I will be flabbergasted if JM stays within three touchdowns of them. Did you watch the pass defense or lack of same against Bluefield?????? What makes you think they can stop Weir? BTW they are riding on a bus to Lindside not walking, this is the playoffs they will be focus, rested and ready to play.
  13. [ QUOTE ] Actually that streek stands at 15 games in a row. There last home loss was a 21-14 loss to Oak Hill on September 27, 2002. Hopefully is James Monroe takes care of business the next 2 weeks, that streek won't go any higher than 17. [/ QUOTE ] Martin Luther King had a dream too. Considering that the Mavericks did not score a point in Lindside against the Beavers, and your defense helped a great deal by the officiating crew could not "hold" Bluefield to under 30 points, that is some pretty tall talking. But as I recall from the last meeting of these two schools, you folks from Monroe county talk much better than you play.
  14. [ QUOTE ] Weir is a formidable opponent..give em their due [/ QUOTE ] Weir is a moot point if we don't go out on Saturday afternoon and take it to Mount View...they will be sky high and looking to knock off the number one seed for sure. Stay focused on the View right now.
  15. [/ QUOTE ] In closing I'll say that in the end I'll be overly shocked if the state champion in AA isn't one of the big three: Bluefield, Wayne, or Weir. [/ QUOTE ] Well I agree, but I am sure the James Monroe people feel that they have a shot too, looks like Monroe, Weir and Bluefield and possibly Mount View may all end up in the same bracket, Wayne is gonna be in the other bracket. That is why some people are looking forward to a semi-final match-up with Bluefield and Weir...I know I know both teams have got to make it that far and it certainly is not out of the realm of possibility that Mount View could knock Bluefield off in Round One given the closeness of the game in October, should that be the 1st round match-up. Also possible for JM to knock off Wayne if that matchup happens. But certainly the one and two seeds are the favorites to advance to the title game, but that does not mean it is gonna happen. That is why we play the games. But first things first here let's get Lee County out of the way and then worry about the playoffs. Let's go BEAVERS!!!
  16. well if things go as the should and I know there is a lot of football that needs to be played here....but I suspect they will be traveling south for a semi-final game, which is better than playing them in their backyard on "the island" However I do agree that the WVSSAC has no backbone but then what else is new?
  17. Quote: "seems to be coach simon is just a regular coach with a really good team...nothing special i suppose. (no offense)" Don't ever underestimate the value of coaching in high school football. It takes way more than just raw talent to make a successful team. Sometimes talent is hard to control from a coaching point of view. Just ask Mount View. Freddy, still a relatively young man, will go down as one of the greatest coaches in the history of the school. The fact that he has surpassed the legendary Chamara speaks volumns, he also has taken the Beavers to Wheeling five times in the last ten years, a remarkable feat in and of itself.
  18. If the Mavs defense could defend the pass as good as these fans can talk then maybe just maybe the Mavs would have been in the game Friday night. Oh well, if "if's" and "but's" were candy and nuts we would all have a Merry Christmas. Bluefield 34 James Monroe 0 Enuff Said
  19. So Friday night is the opening of "Beaver Season" in Monroe County....then the limit must be one....a decade, huh? The series stands at 11-1 in favor of the Beavers. And I agree if your team needs this thread to get them fired up for this game, with the number 1 team in the state coming to town, then they really do have some issues down there.
  20. It may be a bit early to consider this but if Weir has to forfeit two games it may drop them to 16 and if Bluefield wins out and stays at Number one....this could set up a very interesting first round playoff game in Bluefield. Weir would not be your typical number 16 seed. I vividly recall that double overtime thriller last year. But if you want to be the best you got to beat the best I suppose.
  21. Nice thread.....some smack talk on both sides. But keep in mind all this talk is just that ......talk. What matters is what happens between the white lines. Since the schools started playing in 1994 James Monroe has won one game in 2002. So all you Maverick fans just keep talking....the Beavers will just keep winning. Talk is cheap but victories have to be earned.
  22. Can the G-men win this one....I hope so but the Tigers are playing some better now it seems?
  23. [ QUOTE ] see ya in lindside!! [/ QUOTE ] Well said, but first the Beavers have some business to take care of on Chamara Field with Herbert Hoover this Friday. Once that has been taken care of, I expect Coeburn and Company will travel to Monroe County and "git r done".
  24. [ QUOTE ] Anyone else having trouble accessing their sites and message boards??? [/ QUOTE ] Nope but considering some of the stupid stuff you have posted on there recently...they probably banned you. LOL
