  1. james monroe 35 tolsia 14 imo jm is the superior team having seen both.
  2. If Tolsia s field is on the side of a hill, then water draining onto the field should drain off the field and continue downhill towards the school. Also, if the statement that Tolsias field is on the side of a hill and "catches" water is true then what were they thinking when they built it. I really dont think that is the case. When any field is constructed it is designed with water drainage in mind and that is why the center of the field is elevated or "humped" over the rest of the field. The FACT is, water was STANDING on the field before the game, i walked it and know this. Water stood in the mud in the middle and even in what little grass there was inside the 20's and end zone. It had not rained in over 24hrs there before the game. In that case i could understand the ground being soft and muddy, but STANDING water should have soaked into the mud in 24hrs. The weather system that came thru during the week was from the southwest. i came up thru kentucky that day on RT23 (pikeville, prestonburg, paintsville) and it was sunny. That weather system was actually moving thru northern and eastern wv on friday. This is what i base my "opinion" of what probably happened to create these field conditions. Of course everyone has an opinion and that is mine. Regardless, the game is over....
  3. from the KHSSA website.... "Pike County Central Need to fill two of the following dates: 8/24/07, 8/31/07, 9/7/07. Contact: Chris McNamee" Pikeville, KY enrollment: 663 2006 record 4-6
  4. as much as i want to have another shot at jm, blfd's season is over and i think that beaver fans should support the mavs. my interaction with tolsia folks was very cordial and they have a great upstart program, but im pullin for the mavs even tho many beavers thought that the game w/jm had some questionable situations to say the least. i will hopefully travel to lindside and set on the home side believe itor not. this is a once in a lifetime situation for you jm seniors and take advantage. i hope the mavs are in wheeling.
  5. as much as i want to beat graham every yr, im pullin for them against richlands. should be a hell of a matchup next week. graham is peaking. now that blfd's season is over i am behind graham and all of the beaver fans should be IMO. graham has always been behind blfd in their success in the playoffs and i think beaver fans should be pullin for em.
  6. yes lilly and patterson will be sophs next yr and will be a major impact but my point is that the SENIORS must take the beaver team on their shoulders and LEAD THE TEAM.. it is up to the SENIORS to be the core of the team that turns momentum when the other team has gained it like last nite at tolsia. all and all i think this yrs beaver team is superior to graham, j monroe, and tolsia, but that SENIOR guidance is the key. ive been there and know that the SENIORS are the difference, that being from the underclassman perspective and the SENIOR perspective. next yrs beaver team already has the talent to be dominant over any team out there, but the difference will be SENIOR leadership.
  7. ".....Best wishes to McClahanan on a speedy recovery. Let's hope this loss burns and stings throughout the entire off-season and drives the returning players to better themselves. We've got some holes to fill, but do bring back a good nucleus. ...." this yr has been a yr of great potential that this team could just never quite get there. the greatest effort was against scott at laidley. last nites game at tolsia really had to be an entire TEAM effort and it was happening in the first half. to me there were several plays that were just inches from changing the outcome. the keys in the game were the tolsia kickoff return in the second qtr when we really had them on the ropes and that gave them momentum. also what can u say about the impact mcclanahan was for the offense. he was the nucleus that led the offense and when he went down i thought the potential was there but we lost a running back with jt at qb and also the fact of we were running a scheme we had not practiced, a total disruption of rhythm. i dont think tolsia was the best team but they were given a situation that they could capitalize on and they did. both teams left alot of heart in the mud last nite... as far as next yr.... yes i hope this burns and that these juniors will really step up to lead this team as seniors. i think there should be a big chip on their shoulders and THEY have some thing to prove. graham has won THE beaver-graham game two yrs in a row and j monroe has won the regular season game two yrs in a row. what more could make them bleed in the off season training than graham and j monroe saying "we own you!!!" mcclanahan, ponder, brooks, harris.... and the rest of next yrs SENIORS.... they need to step up and gel next yrs team that this yrs team didnt reach. to me, it rests on their shoulders, the talent is there.
  8. it would be nice if the main body of wv could band together against the northern panhandle to get the games moved to a mutual agreed upon central site like parkersburg or charleston. i mean it really relies on businesses to support the funding, and the businesses around wheeling ( and yes, including ohio and pa ) do that. so how can a committee get businesses across the entire state.... charleston, huntington, martinsburg, morgantown, beckley, etc to band together and get the super six moved???? or should i say, how can a committee raise enough money to "buy off" the ssac.... the ssac should be government regulated. it is one of the biggest shams goin on in wv. it is representative of alot of things in wv. as long as the northern part of the state continues to shaft the southern part of the state there will never be a significant economic boost to the south. no wonder there is such a mass exodus of ppl leaving wv for other states....
  9. that is all the reason that blfd players, coaches, and fans need to band together and support each other as i know they will. if it becomes an issue during the game.... whether it be fans actions or players, the blfd community needs to really be behind each other, which we always have been. blfd is a diverse community and it doesnt matter whether ure black, white, green, purple, or blue. my greatest team mates when i played were white and black and i dont care about color it doesnt matter i luv them as they are that stuff doesnt matter.
  10. ive heard comments about tolsia and "black ppl" issues before. if that is the case, blfd needs to go there and play football and keep their mouths shut. if tolsia starts mouthing the "n" word, then they need to talk back with pads not their mouths. i know that when i played at pulaski they used the "n" word alot during the game and it was what initiated the "fight" after the game in '87 there. the best thing blfd can do is band together as a team and play as a team and keep their mouths shut. i know for a fact that when a "mouthy" team is getting their rear end kicked they will self destruct.
  11. also if he can step up in the pocket, instead of scrambling out, he can throw effectively... he runs the ball great too as evident by the td last nite. he has so much potential and is getting there.
  12. got it thanks.... i was outside working and could nt find it on the radio. came in to find it online.... im pullin for mv...
  13. is the game on the radio???? all i can find is the wvu game..... whats the link to the internet broadcast????
  14. [ QUOTE ] Biggest stat of the night in my book, ZERO fumbles after 25 in the previous four games (lost 9). [/ QUOTE ] yes.... that is a huge factor. and also, the defense has played tremendous these last two weeks. and i credit alot of it to the very core of the defense..... allen carter. he has stepped it up a notch at the nose guard. the jm game was a tough game for him and he has played with a vengeance the last two games. and his play has inspired the rest of the defense. i think as long as they play like they have the last two weeks, theyll be hard to beat. and another factor to consider..... field conditions.
  15. [ QUOTE ] they said on the news that next weeks game is at mitchell. i take it it was a mistake? [/ QUOTE ] the game will be at tolsia. date and time will be decided sunday.
  16. If bluefield keeps playing like they did against scott and liberty then theyll be tough to beat. theyre finally playing to the preseason expectations.
  17. [ QUOTE ] Let'll talk now, we'll do our talking on game day... [/ QUOTE ] amen bro.... but the tolsia comments would make good locker room banter
  18. FROM TSP... "Bluefield's Playoff streak ends next week in Fort Gay...." "Tolsia's too powerful on offense and to strong on defense (for Bluefield) to pull this one out" "Bluefield can't stop BJ Evans and Tolsia has already proved that they can stop speed.... "
  19. AAA BRACKETS ARE UP ON WVSSAC SITE.... AA BRACKETS SHOULD BE UP SHORTLY
  20. i think last yr they were posted on the ssac website around 11am
