  1. ESPN is so full of crap. They act like Carroll never supported it, and he was a FLAMING supporter of it when USC was on top. Way to point this out, GMan. Really stinks to be on the opposite end of it, eh?
  2. I take those states away just to show how close it would be were those two states not included. But they are, of course, because they have the nation's two largest populations. Nothing sinister in my approach at all.
  3. Haha, no problem. But take away New York and CA, and it's much closer. But that's 86 electoral votes. Oh well.
  4. 52-47 is very close. 100K votes out of 3.4+ million is very close. That's all I have to quibble about.
  5. I do, and always have. But there are many out there who don't. And not coincidentally, there's a good many more who voted for him for that reason. Either as a deciding factor or a primary one.
  6. Exactly correct, and there are no two bones about it.
  7. There are really two different Virginias, and it takes an election to really show us that. >80% of the counties went for McCain. But those few that didn't are populous enough to swing it. If nothing else, I'm glad this racial barrier was shattered tonight. But I pray Obama's the right man for the job. I'll support him as the President, and I'll approve of his actions in office until he gives me a reason not to.
  8. That may be, but not what I was looking for. If you were responding to me, that is. :) I "bet" you might be able to guess it.
  9. Speaking of Libertarians, their VP candidate is Wayne Allyn Root. I'll give someone a high-five if anyone can tell me what he's most famous for.
  10. Not at odds with anything I've said, I think...
  11. That doesn't shock me. Not one bit.
  12. A tell-tale sign that there's dirty laundry there.
  13. Absentee ballot: already done it! :)
  14. It reminds me of this awesome clip:
  15. What shroud of secrecy about McCain and Palin? I guess no one will truly know what went on for those 5 years McCain sat being tortured in the Hanoi Hilton. Or perhaps you were referring to Palin's trooper-gate fiasco. Look what just came out tonight: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081104/ap_on_el_pr/palin_troopergate. If Obama were ONCE truly honest regarding Tony Rezko, Jeremiah Wright, or ACORN, perhaps I'd be more inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt. But oh no, when he hangs around with these characters (ESPECIALLY Wright) far more than just business interaction, I feel a duty owed to inform me of why he chums around with these sorts of people. Obama's given far less than a satisfactory explanation.
  16. Good deal! :) And they do suggest getting absentee ballots in ASAP.
  17. Terrible, terrible incident. I do hope and pray that both of those young men recover fully, and barring that, as well as they possibly can. And my prayers go out to their families in these difficult times. This brings up a larger issue, though. It's almost a given: reckless rates of speed + ridiculous hours of the morning + other possible variables = certain trouble. May everyone take a lesson here.
  18. It's high time for Phil to leave. He hasn't been truly competitive for the conference title in quite some time. Yes, I'm aware of last year, and also aware that it's a BIG aberration in his team's competitiveness since LSU's rise in the earlier part of this decade.
  19. Haha, oops. Well, you could see how I could mistake it. ;) Carry on, then.
  20. Such a typical response, and with all due respect, it's equally as incorrect every time I see it. You simply cannot penalize a candidate just because they may contain some similar viewpoints and share the same party. Obviously, some views will mirror each other, but they are different. There are no two human beings alive that have the exact same viewpoints on every issue, and Bush and McCain are absolutely no different.
  21. Glaspy's drop does not a game make. Granted, it's a big drop and a heartbreaking drop, but we had SO many opportunities to put that game away and we just failed like a UVA team always seems to do in games that really mean something. Now, we just need someone to beat Miami so that we're in control of our own destiny, again. I just don't like the thoughts of UVA-VT deciding the Coastal in Blacksburg. UVA's career record is about 0-594 in those types of games. But back to my original point: if Reyering wouldn't have missed two FGs a college kicker should make; if Verica would've audibled out of a pass on a 3rd-and-2 from the Miami 27; if the offense would've converted just once in 3 tries inside the Miami 40; if the wonderful ACC officiating crew wouldn't have killed a drive by ruling Ogletree out-of-bounds when a blind man could've seen that he got a foot down ONE FULL YARD INSIDE THE SIDELINE; if Ja'cory Harris wouldn't "throw it up where I thought he might be" when he had "another DE in my face, again"; we might've won the game.
  22. Well-deserved for both teams. WVU's really got themselves back on track after some early season struggles. Fast track to the Big East's BCS game, as well. What a situation we have in the ACC, though!
