  1. Grundy had a big win Friday night but still needs improvement just like every team, but there Defense is probably the best I have seen in the area in some time. It all starts with the player that should have been mentioned in the D1A discussion on here before anyone (maybe besides his brother) Aaron Marcum. Owens is a monstor at the end, Lee plays good at D tackel, and of course linebackers such as Looney, Baker, Penley, and Brown. And don't forget Garon and J. Brown will pop from the secondary. Unleash that defense on everyone Wave and just keep tweaking with the offense and more good things are to come. Go Cats..................Catmandoo
  2. I think his dream is to play D1. I think several D2 schools would love to have him but I would tell him to keep working his butt off and I think he'll be able too somewhere. Go Cats...Catmandoo
  3. Yeah, I didn't mean to cause specualation, Just heard his leg was cramping up or something. And I can't wait to hear about the SMU camp. The reason I think Aaron keeps doing better at these camps is because of exactly what you were saying, preperation time. I don't know to many kids that set around and decide to go run forties for fun. lol But I say that's exactly what you gotta do when colleges look at it closly as they do now. Go Cats.............Catmandoo
  4. I heard earlier that Aaron recorded a 4.9 40 time at Georgia Tech this weekend. Glad to hear that, but supposedly there were some problems or he would have ran even better. I guess we will see because July 24th he will be attending SMU's camp in Dallas TX. But something strange to note about the GT camp this weekend, I read online that they only tested the kids on their 40's. NO shuttle times, bench, vertical, or anything. Kind of wierd if you ask me. 5. Hey, just heard Aaron Marcum is attending camp at Georgia Tech this coming weekend. I wish him luck and can't wait to hear how it goes. Go CAts, Catmandoo
  6. Well I have heard about colleges looking too Lance but I don't believe they're is any offers. And BigD4VT, you are right about the top player rankings, they are very inconsistent. I have seen some have him ranked great and others have him ranked descent so it's just about what I college needs and what they look for in that certain position. I also wish him, his brother, and any other kid who wants to continue to play football after high school the best of luck as well. And I do agree with Lance. Not going to be easy but I think he will sign D1A somewhere come Feb. Go Cats, Catmandoo
  7. BigD4VT, He ran a 5.0 at that msl camp that went by nfl combine rules and was on that slow cincinatti grass so I say his time is around 4.8. That's what I read the coaches even told the boys. But sometime this summer, if he attends any camps which I would say he probably is, he needs to clock atleast a 4.8. Also, the other day I was talking to one of the Grundy coaches and they told me that they saw him max out at 280 in the weight room about 2 weeks ago. Finally 6'0 tall isn't that bad for a middle-linebacker. It's not the greatest height but he can work with that by using his head on the field. I think Aaron will be fine but he needs to just keep working and I wish him the best. Fine young player who I would like to see go somewhere and I believe he can and will. Go Cats, Catmandoo
  8. Well I disagree with most everyone on this post because I have seen you all say negative stuff about Grundy and there players. But Grundy only finished 8-4 last year so if they want respect they had better listen to Jimmy and work hard. Because no matter what you are going to have to play teams that have "more talent" than you all, as in Graham and hopefully, possibly, Gretna. Go Cats..."Catmandoo"
  9. Well son, LB31, you must have not read that his 40 time is down near the 4.8-4.9 range now, 17 reps of 185, 8ft. broad jump, 4.5 shuttle, 29 inch verticle(UVA Nike Camp), and I am not his family. And to say that Aaron Marcum needs to work harder just goes to show you don't know him. He's not the greatest athlete but he is in the same leauge as these other guys because of his effort. But his numbers aren't that bad anyway. Match them up to other top linebackers in the state and you can see that they are equal if not better.
  10. Hey, check this article out on the front page of www.vtinsider.com Great article, check it out. Go Cats, catmandoo
  11. Well all of that stuff is true Lance but how can you say a post was so bad when it's gotten all of these replies...lol And to Mr. VA High, if I know Aaron like I think I do he is probably working his butt off just like Lance said. Yeah, and the MSL camp where he clocked a 5.0 on a slow field (University of Cincinnati) also went by Nfl combine rules. Ask Mr. Kevin Jones if there isn't a .2 difference...lol And if Aaron did run a 5.0 he runs a 4.5 when he plays VA High! That kid always has played good against them all the way back to when he was a freshman. GO KY IN 2005.catmandoo
  12. Well just my opinion on the whole thing is that Aaron Marcum is as good if not better than most of the other linebackers in VA but it's just hard to get noticed from where Grundy is located. If he has having trouble getting his name out there, they is probably a big reason for it! And about this person getting on here and posting, I personally don't think it's that big of a deal. He obviously is just a Grundy fan and they do have an excellent chance to make it to state this year. Aaron may not be the very best in the state and/or Garron the fastest but their both Pretty damn good football players.
  13. I read on Preps that Aaron Marcum won MVP and Garon Marcum was Offensive Player of the year, neither a big surprise, and James Deel won The Mark Van Meter Award. Is James Deel the big offensive lineman (number 70 something), cause if so then that's not a surprise either. Just wondering if I was thinking of the right person. Catmandoo
  14. I think that a team has the right to celebrate their state title, and Grundy would def. celebrate since they have never won one. But the Graham G-Men surley would gloat in that limelight as well. Since their savior, Ahmad Bradshaw, couldn't even win them one. But back to my point, I think that it can be excessive though. Gretna is the only team I still see on any of these chat rooms still talking about their win, thanking and congratulating people, etc.
  15. Everyone is wondering about why Dan Marino quit his new job with the Dolphins even before he got started. He is saying it was because he didn't want full time duties and/or what not but I know the real truth. That is that he finally got to go to a superbowl this last Sunday and that is something that he never could do and/or would do with the Miami Dolphins...lol
