  1. Zach Cooper won the Huff which is the best defensive player in the state. Nate Sowers won the Kennedy which is the best player in the state.Burkes got the Hunt but I am not exactly sure what it represents. Congratulations to all.
  2. I am sure the screen name owner was upset. By publishing this you have sunk to the level of the person spewing insults. I have read your other posts. You have intelligent and interesting things to say about football. This was not one of those times. I am sure it will be a long time before those boys get over their disappointing loss. After all, you guys were still talking about your loss to Poca this year, even though it happened last year. You are winners this year. Congratulations. Just disappointed you posted the original message.
  3. Pretty cheap posting a private conversation on a message board. Especially when the person identified himself. Not what I have come to expect from a bluefield fan. The game has been over for a long time. It was a big surprise to all who saw it. Isn't that why it is called "Miracle at Mitchell"? Let's all move on. Anyone I have sent a private message to, I expect it to remain private or I would have posted it myself. Thanks for not disrespecting that.
  4. Zach was not involved in the post game antics. He deserves to be captain, just like Rusty.
  5. I wonder if there is any kind of precedent...I can't imagine any southern WV team being let off the hook for using an ineligible player. [/ QUOTE ] Single A Wahama got the same treatment for ineligible player. The boy moved to WV from Ohio where he was was eligible to play. I am not sure who dropped the ball with looking at his trancripts but WV standards are higher than OH and it turned out to be a semester issue not an overall grade point of which he had 2.7. The boy played a few plays in each game with little impact. The scores were collectivly 83-12. That is why the SSAC ruled the way they did. Had those games been taken away we still would have made play offs.
  6. Perhaps they were stepping in the middle of the dad/coach controversy. I certainly didn't see it all. I know a player was either holding his dad back or protecting his dad and several of his teammates were trying to pull him away from the situation. It would not suprise me if the hot head who knocked over the tables took a swing at someone who told him to settle down. He needs anger management classes. On second thought, maybe there are several who could attend.
  7. The kickers dad is not a coach. The holder's dad is the head coach and his brother, the idiot in jail, is the offensive coordinater. No other coaches have children who play. No children were hit by any coaches.
  8. Weir and Bluefield played a great game today. Personally I think Weir dominated the game. But that doesn't mean squat because when it came down to it, your boys dug down deep and played 2 min and 30 seconds with more heart than I have ever seen. Congratulations. With that said, what I witnessed after the game was atrocious. I have never seen a more pitiful display by a few fans,a few players and a coach that probably should never coach again. A fan (DAD) made a nasty comment to the offensive coach who called that stupid pass play that created the momentum it took for your team to "finish us off." The coach was Joe Filberto and he went nuts. A disgusting display of unsportsmanlike conduct that should never be witnessed by children. As for the boy who threw his things and knocked over the table, a hot head who reacts badly when we win or lose. Cooper and sperlazza were not involved other than they were trying to come between Filberto and the fan. The kicker was not slapped, he was hugged by one of the other coaches who knew he felt horrible. I for one was more dissappointed in our behavior than in the loss of the game and to anyone who cares, please accept my apology for our teams behavior. And feel free to keep that coach in jail indefinitly. Congratulations, Good Luck next week in Wheeling.
  9. Long, Long, Long ride home. Congratulations. Good Luck next week in Wheeling.
  10. My quote was from Hillbilly on page 2 He stated that Bluefield could have run up the score on JM but "unlike your new found friends from the north we have more class than that." I took offense. As I have stated, the final scores don't always show the whole picture. And I was using his own team to show that example. I don't think Bluefield purposly runs up scores on their opponents, and I don't think Weir does either.GO RIDERS!
  11. Hey now. I was mearly replying to the statement that Weir has no class. We also took most of our starters out at half time of all of our playoff games and played every player on the team including freshman. I was mearly stating a fact: that some times you cannot help it when the score gets out of hand. And you should know that as well as I. After all they are all High School kids trying to play their best.Sorry you took offense.GO RIDERS!
  12. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Do you really think that Bluefield could not have beaten you just as badly if they had wanted to? That game had the potential to be just as ugly except for the fact that unlike your new found friends from up North, Bluefield had the class to call off the dogs when the game was in hand. ----- If you were at the game, you would know that Bluefield kept the starters in the whole game. So much for all that class .... [/ QUOTE ] Bluefield vs OakHill 42-6 Shady 61-15 Lee 58- 0 Mt View 58-0 WW 49-6 Did you leave your Class at home during these games?
  13. You cannot judge all of Weirton by one or two people who post, I certainly don't judge all of Bluefield by the people who post on this board. The Weir team has nothing but respect for the Beavers and are looking foreward to the game because they like evenly matched competition. As for those Beaver fans who think the game will be a blow out with the Beavers victorious, THINK AGAIN. Both teams are fueled by memories of last year, the games that knocked them out of the championship respectivly. Perhaps Weir will not hold Bluefield to 14 pts, but The Beavers will also not be able to hold Weir to 14pts either. Both teams have explosive offenses and first rate defenses. As for running up the score on other teams, it can hardly be helped. We start substituting at the half and by the end of the game all of the freshmen have played also. They still keep on scoring. What are they to do, stop playing because they feel sorry for the other team? I can hear the coach now, "Don't get that first down, your making the other team feel bad, and if you get a good run, slow down so the other team can catch you." It has been stated that Weir doesn't have much speed, but imagine the score if they did. How much quicker do you think they need to be? When I started reading this board, it seemed the Beaver fans respected Weir; as long as they were playing someone other than Bluefield they had nice things to say. My prediction Weir 35 Bluefield 28. See You Saturday. GO RIDERS!
