Why would you travel 2 hours to play in a pig pen when you can travel 30 minutes to Gate City and play a better team.

Va High is 3-1. I'm sure there are great teams that go to those tournnaments in Myrtle Beach. Why not pitch your best pitcher. I heard a parent say they didn't want her to get a loss on her record. Coaches need to re-think their stratergy. Va High plays more single a schools than single a schools. The only sport that doesn't play more than one single a school is baseball. Don't tell me single a is great. Gate City couldn't advance in any sport except for football till they went to single a. Va high had that chance to go single a but they did not want to play the Powell Valley's or Gate City's instead they wanted to play Holston and Northwood. I wish they would play double a or go single a. They have a single mentality playing double a in the worst district in the state.

I think Tazewell will win the SWD next year. They have good linemen returning and they always have good athletes. Coach Wyatt has the bulldogs going again.

Is Wise County closing high schools. I heard Pound and Appalachia If so it will put a strain on LPD next year for football games. Maybe the Bearcats will be in the LPD next year.

20 games are on the schedule in va but it doesn't mean they only play 20 games.

Plain and simple basketball is bad at Virginia High at this point. A change needs to be made somewhere. I didn't think the coach was going to show up at the game the other night. Softball is dominated by the lady bearcats! They are talking state championship this year with Branson. She shouldn't lose a game. Tazewell will be the best team out of the SWD. They have better coaching than Richlands.

There is no question Marcum is better than Muncy. They are both great players but I think Marcum can defend the run and pass better than Muncy. He has the lack speed but reacts to the ball well.
