This doesn't have anything to do with anything, but Allen Shelton is an animal, who actually is a VERY, VERY good sportsman also, which is great to see. Isn't wrestling based on sportsmanship anyway, taking into consideration the mandatory handshakes before and after the match?

This does sound like a pretty serious situation. Legal action should take place if the damage is enough, but I think that it comes down to the athlete controling himself and using the loss as motivation instead of a basis to destroy stuff. How does the saying go? "A winner is truly defined by how well they climb out of the depths of defeat," or something like that.

You may be right but from what I understand, it costs about $20,000 to play there for a season. I really hope I'm mistaken, though.

About the field, it takes so much money and time to keep it up. I know that ERSC is privately kept up, causing the price to play there absolutly massive. Also, they are constantly expanding, making the price skyrocket. Don't get me wrong, I would love more than anything for these great pitches to show up across the SWD, as well as Virginia and even America.

All I want to do is play soccer. Nothing more, nothing less. Just play. This snow is killing me. Agree?

Do you have any basis for that statement? Have you scrimmaged or had any strict inner-squad games? Please write back on the forum after your first game.

Sorry for not being specific. The JV teams of the last couple of years for all of the SWD teams have seemed pretty promising. Will there be a mass flock of these players move up to the varsity level from their JV level last year or will these players stay where they are? Apparently teams like Tazewell and Carroll are going to have a lot of these due to the shots they took due to graduation last year. Also include Graham in this, as far as I know.

As I've said pretty much the whole time, it is still early to decide this. As you said, Tazewell has a little work, but who knows until the first game when the opponents and situations are real. It depends on who can handle these situations and mesh the best with their team as to who will win the district.

What I'm even more excited about is our chances and expectations for WC '06. I see us definately going to the quarters or maybe even semis of the tourney. A third place finish? That would be unheard of and straight up awesome!!!

Yeah, I guess atrny gnrl, a guy by the way, jumped the gun a little early. I don't guess that we can count anyone out at this stage, even the teams that usually don't achieve to the highest level each year.

Alright, now compare our district to the other districts in the state. The SWD can't match up at all just because of the skill level in the other areas of Virginia. Don't get me wrong, the SWD is going to be where it's at in the next couple of years but as of this year, the competition is pretty stiff. Do you agree?

Well, I don't think that we will have any problems with Columbia, even though this match really doesn't matter. I wouldn't doubt if we won 2-1 or tied 1-1 or something. Just as long as Johnson gets another goal! The next match that matters though is against Mexico in Mexico City. Don't forget we've never won there.

You can't forget about my team, AC Milan. They have everything you need for a team, a dominant Midfield, a disciplined backfield, and fast, smart forwards. Cafu, the Brazilian legend, Kaladze, an Italian, Costacurta, another Italian, and Paulo Maldini, don't get in his way. Nesta, Stam, Simic, and Pancaro round out the defense. In the mid, there is Kaka, Rui Costa, Gattuso, Seedorf, Dhorosoo, and Pirlo. That's domination. And of course, the forwards are Shevchenko, Inzaghi, Crespo, and Tommason. Who's better than that team? Oh, yeah. I forgot Dida, arguably the best keeper in the world right now, is in goal for them.

Looks like the JV's from last year will be running the table this year in the SWD. Is that true? Didn't Graham lose pretty much all of their starters last year? Apparently 8 out of the 11 Graham starters graduated last year. What else happened as far as these kind of blows to other teams in the district?

Ok, so now you've had your first days of practice. Are the teams everything you all thought they would be?

Well, uh, there are districts in the state that have Blacksburg, Cave Springs, Chancellor, Charlottesville, and so on and so forth. Soccer Camp at UVA this summer was full of them and they were freakin' awesome. Soccer in those parts of the state are so much more competitive, they play year around. The Districts that they come out of are the RRD (River Ridge District) and the BRD (Blue Ridge District). These are the power houses of the State. Along with them are Broad Run, Courtland, King George, Spotsylvania, just to name another couple of schools. These are the teams that should be winning their district/region/state, but because of their district, they are held down. the Battlefield District is where these teams come from.
