    AUBURN

I have no idea what you just said jorgeg_unit, but I will say that from what I can remember Auburn has a very nice band. Can't wait to hear them play tomorrow night
  2. As I said: beating GW was not a test
  3. I was at the Tazewell-George Wythe game and the Dawgs looked very, very versatile. All of the kids on that team can play 48 minutes and are also well-disciplined. As for the George Wythe game, we should have all seen that coming. That senior class is doomed. After a few transfers from the class, (most notably a RB that would be a big name if he stayed, Aaron Barnett) the team has had to rely on the only true talented player on the first-team squad McCoy, although he only received 6 carries. After transferring away from there myself, I can tell you that play-time there is political and that a few boys on that sideline could have prevented such a blowout. After rambling on, my point is that Tazewell's first test of the season will be Lebanon. I have no doubt in my mind that they will win and have a spectacular season, but the GW game was totally not a test for the Dawgs. My pick: Tazewell, 28-13

    BC vs TV

Well, shouldn't they?? I hear that #1 Willis is going straight to the NFL from high school...!! ;-)
  5. Both teams experienced their first-game jitters, and Holston figured out their ticket to success if they can get it going. The youthful Bears need to discipline themselves to "stay home." It's the only major mistake they made (seeing as how it's the only way the Cavs scored), and is essential against an athelete like Titman. Best of luck to both teams and kudos to a very nice nail-biting game

  7. I would love to supply you with more video of this year if you want me to. The Twin Valley game is the only one I have on PC. If you would like me to mail you a VHS I would be more than happy to BigCountry.
  8. Telling from the game the lead tackler had to be #51 Kyle Foglesong. It seemed every single play his name was announced for the tackle. Quarter back Matt Morris (#4) seems so much more aware than he did in the preseason. Bland County has so many play makers, tho. It seems every time a big play happened another name was announced. BC just has trouble in the red zone. So many times they got stuffed. There were about 25 seconds left in the first half and Bland ran a fullback dive to the junior #42 Pennington and he ran around 60 yards all the way to the 10 yard line when his hamstring gave out. The Bears were still not able to punch one in from the 7. If they fix this, they will be a playoff contender. Twin Valley has some great talent on their team. I wasn't able to pick up names but the halfback #48 was a speedy back with a good bit of size and the quarterback #18 was very impressive. TV didn't seem to be delivering the big licks but their defense was good. All in all it was a well fought game that was very entertaining.
  9. I am a former student of GW and personally do not like the school, but seems like this year the cabbage heads have a bigger thing for themselves than the 'roons. My prediction would be a very high scoring game with George Wythe up by three touchdowns. Heldreth is a tough kid and will surprise the GW defense. Good luck to both teams, wish I could attend the game.
  10. Oh well, no use in working up your self esteem for going 16-0 with BC in the first half. We'll see how the FC game goes and then you can brag from there. Good luck against any superb DB group tho.
  11. And TJ Stone is the most overrated player in Wythe County. He has never showed me anything in either football or baseball. But hey, maybe he'll be able to earhole all of GW's starting squad so you guys can compete with them.
  12. Every big rushing play was against the second a third team defenses which consists of pure freshmen. As a state team I guess I would feel good about that. And any other were all up the gut. Which MLB Pennington was out most of the game due to dehydration. But hey, if you can beat GW and back that up, I will give you credit but be VERY surprised.
  13. Boys who expect RR to go anywhere, here is how it is: Rural Retreat has a very talented coaching staff who will lull the defense to sleep by running, running, running, comback route, running, and then BOOM, a big pass to J.H. The athletic talent is no higher than that of an MED team. Matt Heldreth is one great QB but needs to work on not keeping his eyes on the receiver he is going to throw to. RR's running game wasn't up to par w/ a state competing team since they did nothing with BC. If a team has a running back quick enough to reach the corner, they are home free for a touchdown against the indians. My predictions for Wythe County competition is George Wythe on top of RR definately, and a very close game between RR and FC. And teams watch out for Stone. He basically does nothing in the game other than his little art of cheap shots that are legal in the books but shouldn't be happening
