baseball is a unique sport in that it's an individual game played within a team concept. unlike other team sports you can't gang tackle a pop-up or double team a ground ball.

Playing Varsity would help the 9th and 10th graders just as much as playing jv....the speed of the game would be very difficult to get used to, but it would help them improve

not to mention all the games were away...i was playing on the jv team then and i would have to agree that they had some talent.....myself and the other guy we moved up had two goals each in the first half....needless to say we didn't get to play much in the second half

This keeper thing is getting ridiculous...right now coach plans to try split time with me and jordan...i am more than happy with any position... and i know that i will step up if asked to

And I hate to reply to my own post, but Graham has a great chance to be competitive. If some of you guys can't remember I did get to play goalie some last year. While it was only a couple of games, I didn't let a goal in. The season hasn't even started and we have already begun to judge if players are burned out and who has the best chance at winning a new SWD. Lets wait till we start play before we start call out very good players for being a little frustrated at times, because we all know that last year was frustrating with all of the arguing that took place. All I can say is, I'm looking forward to a great season and a very competitive SWD.

To set the goalie situation straight. I am happy with any position coach puts me in. I just want to make the best contribution I can.

Abingdon or Marion 1st Graham or Tazewell for 3rd has CC lost anyone? After being Chaz's back-up last year, I hope to step in and compete in a very talented SWD I agree that there will be some what of a choice for who the starter will be, but I know that I will step up when called on and do my part to help us win

has Bland had a scrimmage or game yet

Like last year....a team with a talented post will win many games in the SWD....i don't know much about Abing. and Marion, but Grundy lost Ashby which was a beast on the boards and hopefully Taz. hasn't lost Tax which provides great leadership.... i look for our district to be very competitive.....I am just excited for a great season of basketball

this is not swd, but Virginia High has an up and coming freshmen phenom. Practicing with their jv team last year she killed Graham by herself in a scrimmage. She is around 5'11 or 6'0 and she plays guard.

No they just have a JV. I think this is their first year having a team.

Graham won 5-0. They will be a good team in the SWD for JV. I hope to see them do well.
