  1. Twin Valley showed some dominance tonight over the wave. Looked like it might evolve into a good game early, but once the panthers broke away late in the first and extended the lead mid-way through the second quarter. After that it was over. Almost seemed like grundy was standing still at times. Good luck to both teams with the rest of their season. TV at Council friday at Council! Should be a game!
  2. Does anybody have any idea who will step up next year for the wave? I'm really interested in seeing who will be their go-to man and replace Marcum!
  3. Hows everybody think this game will go? Personally I believe Grundy will come out with the W! But it won't be near as easy as it was last time for them at Clinchco! Of course the way Haysi is up and down they could come in and the wave blow them out like last time! But I'm sticking with a closer game this time with Grundy being the victor!
  4. I think this one will be a really good game straight down to the finish. But I look for Richlands to pull it off. I think that they just have more weapons than grundy does. Plus if Mulkey gets hot Grundy will be in for a LONG night. Also this would be a very good game for the blues to sneak up on them since they just had a loss to Carrol their confidence is down. I also am curious about when Justus will start putting up the numbers that he did last year. It seems he's went quiet this season. I wonder if he'll wake up before its its to late! But anyway my prediction is Richlands over Grundy in a close game probably by around 4 or 6!
  5. The only difference I see between the 2 teams is that TV's players actually want to come to school there! Their not recruited by the coach as in to say Twin Springs! Also all of TV's transfers had to appear before the school board to be cleared to transfer and play basketball. Therefore I believe it is unfair to make the assumption that TV recruits.
  6. VHS is a good basketball team. But when the played TV both times, the panthers didn't have their true starting 5 out. The Vandyke kid was out with a foot injury and missed the entire tournament. Thus leaving TV to put Goodman on point with didn't free him up to run off screens and set up for open shots. But I guess my opinion on the top 5 would probably have to be TV Gate City Castlewood Abington and VHS
  7. I'm not quite sure if I was the blues be counting Tazewell out so early. The Bulldogs will show up to play I'm sure. Expecially since there is quite a historic rivalry between the two teams! But if I was a betting man I would also have to go with Richlands but not by to much. Maybe around 6 or 8. But thats just my opinion. But good luck to the blues by the way! You guys really opened some eyes the other night. Good luck on the rest of the season!
  8. I really expected for that game to be closer than it actually was. TV came ready to play and it showed. It will be very interesting to see how grundy will do against Richlands next week. Personally I believe Richlands will beat them probably by 10 or so if they play the same way they did against TV. The Vandyke kid really came ready to play last night to. He's usually just all defense and passing but I guess the fact that that would be the last time he would play at grundy sparked something. Baldwin also did really well. He really picked things up in this one compared to the Blues game. I believe TV plays Council at home tonight. Should be quite a game!
  9. I only got there to watch the TV game and it was a good game. They played Bishop McGuiness Christian Academy tonight and won by 20. Bishop played some really good defense. Some of the best I've seen but so did TV. It seemed like they came out ready to play tonight and had something to prove. Personally I feel that if the panthers play the way they did tonight, they will be a contender on down the road. Goodman is really playing great also, tonight he was definately hitting. Tomarrow night Bishop plays Holston, Graham plays Day Spring, and TV plays Chilehowie. Should be some pretty good games. Come check it out.
  10. I have to agree they are the best in the area right now. But I don't believe that it will be a walk in the park for them when regionals rolls around. Gate City won't be a push over and neither will Castlewood. But after this weekends performance Castlewood isn't looking to sound. Twin Valley also has some tough games coming up in the Ramey's Tournament. They play against Day Spring Academy out of Blacksburg if I'm correct. And Bishop McGuinness Christian Academy who is suppose to be really good. If anybody could give me times on the tournament I would greatly appreciate it.
  11. The Ramey's Classic is coming up here soon. Does anybody know the dates of some of the games. I know there are some different teams then there were there last year. So hopefully it will be better as well. Cause if I remember right. It was pretty weak last year.
  12. The tournament over at Virginia High Friday and tonight had some pretty good games so far. I was able to watch the majority of the varsity games which was a real treat. Patrick Henry upset seemed like a very sluggish castlewood team by 1 point. Marion and Chilhowie didn't show up due to inclimate weather so Twin Valley and VA High played so they would have another game in the time slot. the game didn't effect either team as far as status in the tournament went. But Twin Valley trounced them by 27 if im correct. And as far as tonight went. PH played another nail biter against VA High, which went right down to the very end. PH seems like their not to be overlooked this year in the Hogo. VA high lead the majority of the game but PH had a late rally against them coming back and taking a small lead but VA High answered with little time left and beat the rebels by 1. The second game was between Twin Valley and Daniel Boone. Boone beat Lebenon friday night by around 30 by the way. But TV took the lead early in the game and never looked back. They kept the lead at about 15 to 20 the majority of the game. TV also was missing the Vandyke kid who was out with a foot injury. I'm not sure if he will be playing in tomarrow's championship game or not. Chilhowie and Marion also played earlier tonight but I was unable to make it to that one and I'm not sure who won between the to. But so far the tournament has been pretty exciting. The championships will be tomarrow with a rematch between VA high and Twin Valley. Drive down and watch!
  13. Hey does anybody know when rlands schedule starts to kick up. I hope to get out there to catch some games this year. Best of luck to u guys.
  14. According to what I heard grundy had a rough game shooting and committed some dumb fouls near the end of the game when they had council against the wall. But it sounded like it must have been a really good game.
