  1. Exit 19 now has a McDonald's, a Dunkin Donuts, and a Dairy Queen. It doesn't have a Pizza Hut, but it does have Pizza Plus. Burger King, Wendy's, Huddle House, Cracker Barrel, and Bella's (subs and pizzas) are also off Exit 19 and there's also seafood at Harbor House and an Italian place called DaVincis. The Taco Bell at Exit 17 burned a couple months ago, so it's not open. There's a Long Johns, Wendy's, Hardees, and a Charley's sub place along with the other places already mentioned. Safe travels!
  2. Josh Blackburn and Ty King from Battle. Both have signed with UVA Wise.
  3. As a parent of one players, you guys run a first class show and just want to say thanks for all the effort you put into this event. Win or lose my kid has had a blast this week.
  4. Wright was a great hire so was Baker these two along with the others are the reason for the early success.
  5. Your dad is correct. You can just tryout when football starts and there is nothing they can do to you. No penalizing you for not being there during summer workouts. However, the coach can, and usually does, reward players who have been dedicated and committed to the team during summer workouts with starting positions come game time. No penalties...just rewards.
  6. Oh my! Are you even speaking English?
  7. congrats coach Harding but I also think some of those kids have been around for all 500
  8. Holston had more turnovers than Burton did, yet held Burton to 0 points offensively, several times when they were within Holston's 20 yard line . Burton's defense/special teams blocked a punt for a safety that accounted for the only score of the game. When their offenses turned the ball over, both defenses did their jobs (No offensive points scored). Honestly, when an offense turns the ball over a lot, the other team should capitalize and score. Neither defense allowed that to happen.
  9. Awesome game if you like stout defenses who hold their own time and time again. The no offense came from two extremely good defenses!
  10. The team didn't make the video and can't control a student who does. They seemed pretty focused to me last night. Played the best overall game of the year even with the sickness and injuries.
  11. Please don't dog HHS fans after reading pointman's post. Remember, we all have fans like him/her. Most of Holston's fans are sensible and know that the Cavs will need to take it one game at a time, respecting all opponents and looking over none. We are very proud of the team's accomplishments up to this point, but we also know that a lot of tough football games are still to be played.
  12. Heard on the radio that PH lost to Appalachia. The score was close. I'm not certain, but I think it was 22 - 19. Sounds like it was a good one.
  13. It was played on August 31, 2009 at 5:30 pm at Patrick Henry High School. The score could have been a lot worse than it was. Both of these teams were very classy and very sportsmanlike in this game that could have gotten out of hand, but didn't.
  14. It was played on August 31 at 5:30 pm at Patrick Henry High School. I was there. It could have been a lot worse. Holston's 8th grade coaches were classy and allowed all players to play lots of positions in that game. Score at halftime was 45-6 Holston.
  15. I'll be there, too! First home game. Come by our tailgate!
