Goochland sounds like a super defensive team and if Union can play a 3 yards and a cloud of dust take the clock away who knows who will be the final two. Statically the odds at this level can change with the balance of a ball. Appomattox is super quick to the ball with multiple bodies around it, the games ahead will be won yard by yard, 1st down by 1st down, the big plays are going to get fewer and fewer.

If their coming on the opponents side of the field that just ain't smart for more than one reason. I can't think of anything that would focus an opponent more than that. That would be better than locker room material.

What is it they actually do, I haven't seen it. If it's on their side of the field it's their part of the show. How about that Glenvar train horn. Would be nice to have one of those. That fellow must have run a train down somewhere.

GC got to scrimmage them in the preseason, isn't that where the QB got hurt, sounds like payback time.

We lost 9? starters off last years defense and look what there doing this year! How many are seniors this year? I like what the VT coach is doing. A methodical spread. Take the points. All you need is 4 or 5 yard runs to make them respect the middle get the first down and open the receivers. I just have to wonder if our 45 could do a Sam Rogers or if we have somebody who could. I wish we had Booker for two years, if you actually watched Adkins you would have seen he grew enormously from year one to year two. Booker is getting better ever game, given two years he would have looked much like Adkins and still has the potential to be just as good before seasons end. This bunch of coaches can built players into special players, remember Overton and Strong and how they progressed. I hope we get everybody 100% healthy and you get to see the field loaded with our best receivers all at once. Any kind of run game to go with that and it will be fun to watch.

Plain and simple. Mance has set a bar in SW VA. Several Teams today vs 5 years and before ago are close to reaching it. This team with the depth at receiver in 2006 would have been insane nobody knew how to defend this much pass. Abingdon , thru 7 on 7 and matchups last few years know Richlands better than anyone, add to that their experience in their coaching staff and you will get a competitor as good as any you will face at state level. I would bet they have been sizing up Richlands since last year. When you get to the state level it as much about the coaching staff's ability to adjust, adapt, and overcome as it is about the athletes. I sure them coaches will come up with the best they can and seriously given the records they have achieved I would take them over any staff in the state win or loose.

It's amusing. When you become a winning team how others will try to diminish your success with verbiage. I am so happy others are having so much success this year, it means there talking less about us. Howie should be in that mix of touches out of the back field. Have to be able to play take what is given.

For what it's worth Heritage, the team Amherst played last night lost to Appomattox earlier in the year. Watched Appomattox vs Clark County on the vhsl site last year. They know how to shut a single wing down.

The stoutest part of Appomattox's game is the run defense, whoever gets them better be ready to beat them with more than a run game and the pass defense is as good as it gets.

It's all because they didn't have that one player there. If Stonewall had been there it would have been a different game.

Actually there are two brothers to the three, they were twins and Albert and Dooley are brothers or the fathers, Albert the 5 and Dooley of Cody. And I'm pretty sure Seth was here before them all. Confusing stuff.

I sure do like what Tech does with Sam Rogers. You don't need to take it to the house just punch it for 5 yards, work on first downs. What's clear to me is the further up State you get the better the run Ds the pass D's. Short runs short passes " 1st downs" the big plays will come.

Sounds like if you try to stop Cousin and Cook, Meade will hurt you with his legs, do your best to account for all three and this will be one heck of a game. I sure would like to see a blocking fullback type you could put back there with John Luke to give him and extra second or two. Last year he had that two step drop thing going, he could burn you with the slots or the WRs. Also need more option and sweeps with Collins and Booker.

For me I am anxious to see what our D can do with this run game. If they can get some stops don't allow them Bears to posses the ball for long periods of time, statically that means more shots down the field for Richlands.
