  2. Key word you HEARD....I do NOT for one minute think any Richlands players were discussing T.J. in the way you said you HEARD.....what a bunch of crock to even form sentences uttering such despicable remarks. I for one being a Richlands fan want T.J. to have a good game but I'm not rooting for Tazewell to win.....however, I do want T.J. to excel in this game (was even thinking about that earlier in the day before i read this mess.) The only one you really hurt was T.J. by posting such "junk" ......I'm sure he wouldn't want his name to be mentioned in conjunction with such nonsense. In an article that was in the BDT or BHC, don't remember which, he said some of the Richlands' players had taken him out to lunch when he was going through his treatments. I can't believe the level some ppl will go or willing to say for a game of football .T.J. is an inspiration to all area ppl not just those that are hyped about a football game. T. J.,what you've shown us in your off the field victories will stay with many of us forever.
  3. Wisdom could also be an issue....the CEO's flew into Washington to beg for a bailout and did they fly coach ....nope, they flew into D.C. in their companies' Lear and Gulfstream private jets. Oops, guess, they thought no one would find out.
  4. Elswick is the leader, captain, motivator, decision maker and is very astute in adjusting at the line ..... we are very thankful to have such a quality player. The rest of the Blues offensive team have stepped up "big time" being so young and having grown into their offensive roles. Good coaches know you have to adjust as the maturation process evolves for these young players and that has been the "cornerstone" of Richlands' improvement this year. You cannot downplay Richlands' defense in the latter part of the season....just ask PC and John Harris .......we Blues' fans are proud of our team.....but IMO defense sets the tone of the game and the offense feeds off of that. Richlands defense came up BIG against Tazewell and PC in "must" games. GO BLUES
  5. Milton Berle: quote I'd rather be a "could-be", if I cannot be an "are"; because a "could-be" is a "maybe" who is reaching for a star. I'd rather be a "has-been" than a "might-have-been", by far; for a "might-have-been" has never "been", but a "has" was once an "are'. George Patton: quote "You're never beaten until you admit it." Roger Bannister: quote "Doctors and scientists said that breaking the 4 minute mile was impossible, that one would die in the attempt. Thus, when I got up from the track after collapsing at the finish line, I figured I was dead." Gordie Howe: quote You find that you have peace of mind and can enjoy yourself, get more sleep and rest when you know that it was a one hundred percent effort that you gave---win or lose."
  6. If the windows media player is up .....down at the bottom is a bar.....put your cursor on it and move over it till you see PLAY.....click that and it should come up...check also to see if the speaker is muted on the bar ....if it is turn it up.
  7. You may have to download windows media player.....but it should prompt you to do that. I'm listening to it....go down and try the Tazewell link underneath and see if that works. If not I don't know what your problem could be....

  17. "For it has been said so truthfully that it is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us the freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the agitator, who has given us the freedom to protest. It is the soldier who salutes the flag, serves beneath the flag, whose coffin is draped by the flag, who gives that protester the freedom to abuse and burn that flag." - Zell Miller (D) Georgia 2004 "I think there is one higher office than president and I would call that patriot." Gary Hart Thank you men and women .....you are the real heroes ....as we honor you on this veterans day.

  19. GEORGIA HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL Lack of referees delays Rome-Sprayberry start Scheduling mix-up with officials association results in three-hour wait By CHRIS WHITFIELD The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Friday, November 07, 2008 Sprayberry and Rome’s Region 7-AAAA championship game started late, and it had nothing to do with the rain that moved into metro Atlanta Friday night. A scheduling mix-up with the Atlanta Peach State Football Officials Association resulted in no officials being sent to the game in east Cobb. “Have you ever in your life? We’ll play it, eventually,†said Sprayberry coach Billy Shackelford. Officials were to be escorted by Cobb County police from the Kennesaw Mountain-Marietta game in Marietta after it ended in order to play the region title game. Rome officials were given the option of playing the game Saturday, but the school had chartered five buses as well as school buses for the trip from Floyd County and chose to wait out the delay. Both teams, both bands and fans for each team were forced to wait nearly three hours before the start of Friday night’s contest. Instead of doing traditional halftime shows, both bands entertained the crowd before the rescheduled start of 10:15 p.m. APSFOA officials were trying to figure out the scheduling gaffe. “Those games get swapped around,†said APSFOA vice president Keith Collis. “Some of those might’ve been farmed out to the GFOA [Georgia Football Officials Association] or Atlanta Area [Officials Association]. We had a really heavy schedule this week. There are some weeks where we may have 18 or 19 games, which is way too many, and we’ll get together with the GFOA and even it out. I do know we had [Rome vs. Sprayberry] originally, but it could’ve been swapped out months ago. “It was on the schedule, but I’ve got to talk to Larry,†Collis said, referring to APSFOA booking officer Larry Hobgood. “I’ve got a call into him now.†Hobgood was unavailable because he was officiating a game, according to Collis. Collis was recovering from a heart attack earlier in the week, which is why he wasn’t doing a game Friday night. “There was a mix up on who was supposed to contact officials from what I understand, but I don’t have all of the details just yet,†said Georgia High School Association executive director Dr. Ralph Swearngin. Dennis Payne, the GHSA’s associate director and administrator for football, also was still trying to figure it all out. The GHSA could take action against any officials association since the governing organization assigns officials for the playoffs, which begin next week. “I don’t really know what happened. We will figure that out next week,†said Payne, who was at the Kennesaw Mountain-Marietta game. “We don’t really know right now. Monday morning, I will have it all straightened out.†Both Sprayberry and Rome are guaranteed of making the playoffs and hosting a first-round game next week in the Class AAAA tournament. — Staff writer Darryl Maxie contributed to this story

  21. They don't ask to see voter's registration cards here in GA....you show your driver's license or some legit ID (military is one, birth certificate) . ....or no vote. Of course, the liberal media here tried to get showing legit ID tossed....saying....."it was discriminating". Had a person tell me yesterday that a woman standing in front of them was upset. The woman had moved to GA and when she went to register (before the election) was told she had to have some valid form of ID to vote ..... she was upset she had to go get a driver's license. Your driver's license has to match up w/your SS# on file w/the govt. or no license.
