Coach Keene and Rex Davis have matured these girls quite a bit! We have come farther along in our maturity and defensive level since travel ball this summer. I gauruntee we now could womp some of those travel teams that barely beat us back then.

Post your thoughts on the Tazewell win over Richlands 3-0 for the District Tournament Championship game. What do you think about Tazewell's chances in Regions?

After traveling to Carroll, we put them down with a 6-1 win

o yeah...we're having a car wash on May 19th out near Long John Silver's at R&S Outlet. Come out and support us and the wrestling team. The money will go to our camp fund, so we can be awesome this year

yeah...not practically. EVERYONE is returning. We were all juniors and freshman last year. This year it'll be all seniors and sophomores...maybe a few from JV last year will be pulled up but I'm not sure. We'll already have a full team. We're going to UNC for 4 days in late July/early August. We hope to go farther this year than last year. History in the making. Everyone should come watch us play this year. Our hitting is more amazing and our serving is coming along even better. Should be some exciting games

If anyone knows teh single-season homerun record for any school, softball or baseball, post it here. I personally would like to know what it is for Tazewell Softball

We [tazewell] won 7-0. We started off slow, but I believe in either the 3rd or 4th inning we started hitting the ball really well. I think I was the only person not to hit the ball well that game. I don't know what was up, maybe it was b/c I was sick or b/c i was just having a bad day...but I'm glad the rest of the team showed up and hit well. We will travel to Carroll monday to play the second game against them.

Well Lindsey Lester was basically the only person to hit off Keisha Barton this season. Kari Chaffin did pitch Varsity last year, but not against Richlands, however she is very good. She's been injured this year and isn't quite up to where she was, but Keisha is doing a great job. All that about jv and varsity being different is true, but Keisha dominated pitching at the jv level b/c she has been so passionate about pitching her whole softball life. She pitched for our travel team last summer, and we were ranked very high in the nation...3rd I believe. She also amazed some coaches at the Kingsport tournament this year. They thought she was a junior or senior and plenty of good teams struggled hitting her. O yeah, drew cecil...We're already dominating better this year in softball than we did last year. kthnx.

well for softball i can tell you that Tazewell Varsity Softball has 10 homeruns this season: Brittany McReynolds [junior]: 5 Tiffany Harris [junior]: 3 Kari Chaffin [junior]: 1 Sydnei Lester [freshman]: 1 Sydnei almost hit another one against Carroll County this past week. I'm not sure but I think our fence is moved back from 200 ft to 225 ft. And her ball hit the yellow tube at the top of the fence. Anywhere else it would have been another homerun. I know Lindsey Lester from Richlands had 2 homeruns against us when we beat them 5-2, but I'm not sure how many they have.

actually. softball is the toughest sport. but baseball is up there too. sorta. baseball doesn't rly run that much. us softball girls run more than the track team for real. but yeah. I think Whitney Davis could become pro in something. if not do rly well. She starts centerfield as a freshman over a senior at Virginia Tech for softball. Girl works her butt off, not to mention she's really smart. Gosh i miss D. but yeah. They have pro softball now. I can see her doing that, maybe even olympic softball!

Rex Davis should be listed for the Tazewell Coach. He's the one who really coached us. Pitching, hitting. All came from him. our bunting/slapping defenses. All Rex. Coach keene is just sorta there to give us pep talks and run us like the track team.

well its been a while, but just to confirm this. I was on Tazewell's varsity last year as a sophomore. backup catcher, and DP. but yeah. i've played travel with the jv team (i was a young sophomore) and it was all 8th graders. the 9th grader, one of my best friends, quit b/c she never got to play. those 8th graders dominated. adn the reason they lost to vhigh was coaching error. i've talked to someone on the team about that during vball season.

yeah. so i'm the one who posted the first one as ginnis15. that was my friend's thing that i used during school. i have my own now. lala. so yeah. even though we didnt' make it to state we had a good season. starting back up in january! that girl from Tunstall didn't even have to jump to slam the ball in your face. llike shwoah she was amazing. did tunstall beat abindgon. i would think so.
