  1. He's a good player, tough and fast. He hasn't played much at Tazewell because Wyatt picks his starters before 2 a days even start. I 've watched a lot of Tazewell practices and this kid works hard and plays good, but apparently in Tazewell you can't earn a starting position in practice. The coach has to give it to you for whatever reason and it's not always based on talent. There are several kids in Tazewell that didn't get on the field or didn't get much playing time that are good but were never given the chance to even earn a starting spot. Back to Parnell--he plays RB, WR and DB. He's can help RHS. He's a head hunter on Defense. He will be a senior next year. He left Tazewell because he got less and less playing time as the season went on and the last 2 games he never stepped on the field. All he wants is a fair shot to earn a starting postion and that don't happen in Tazewell.
  2. If Richlands has any sense they'll play Vance at QB and not Strong. Vance has size, speed and good head a great arm and ability to make plays with his feet as well as his arm. Strong don't have the size or the arm. Don't know about Big Creek transfers but Cody Parnell transfering form Tazewell has the potential to be a good back, he's fast and tough. With these few additions, Richlands will be tough next year, maybe better than this season.
  3. I would say that would be a good match up. Luke is not the strongest but he is quick, in excelent condition and is very technical.
  4. No, he got tired of getting screwed over at tazewell by the coaching staff. I watched several practices and he was as fast as Muncy and worked his butt off in practice and he was rewarded by getting less and less playing time as the season progressed. He never stepped foot on the field the last 2 games. The coaching staff at Tazewell teaches no integrity what so ever and has double standards for different kids. Watch and see what coach Mance does with Parnell next year. I say he will be a major contributor. I wish him the best of luck, he's a good kid and a hard worker. Someone I would want on my team if I were a coach.
  5. If he would have went for 2 and won, you still wont catch me saying he's great. He's predictable and has no creativity when it come to offense. He makes almost no adjustment during a game and I think there was about 2 new plays added to the offense from the beginning of the season until the end. Tazewell has more talent on there team than Richlands but Richland has the best coaching staff by far!!!!!! And great coaching with decent talent will take you further than medioaker coaching and great talent, Saturday is proof of that. I wish RHS the best Saturday, I hope they win!!! Mance knows how to prepare for a game and he know how to adjust play by play. His record and all the trips to Lyncyburg speak for that.
  6. The call was correct, the ref just could not relay to the fans what the call was. We did only have 6 on the line and that was a penality. If we had a good coach that penality would have never happened. Blame the confussion and not having the right players on the field and in position on the coach. Whichever coach made that mistake ought to step up and apologize to the team and the fans for maybe costing the Dogs the game.
  7. Jealousy paints an ugly picture! Since Wake Forest in a D1 school and they have offered Matt a full ride then that MUST mean he is a D1 prospect!! And by the way WF is doing pretty well this year so they must know how to recruit. 1+1=2 -- Since you went to GHS I thought you might need to know that because you obviously don't know what you're talking about. Quite downing a kid that has the chance of a life time!!!!!!
  8. I was at the field this evening and it has been swept. The field is in good shape. No mud, it's not very wet actually. Depending on the temp. tomorrow will determine if the field stays forzen from the single digit temps tonight or gets a little wet from the little bit of snow left behind by the broom. We're going to work on it a little more in the morning. I think by game time the field will be fine.
  9. There's no doubt they're up for this game.
  10. Don't know who you are, you didn't wrestle last year for THS. Are you saying you're going to win District at 135? Have you ever wrestled before? If not, you're in for a long season.
  11. Gentlemen, in 2 days we will know the answer whether we like it or not and all these opinions wont mean anything. But for now, my opinion is: this will be a nail biter to the end! Everyone talks about Richlands' Defense and seems to overlook Tazewell's D. THS has a couple of players on D that will be back for this game and that might make enough of a difference. Who knows-----like I said we'll all know in 2 days!!! Can't wait!!
  12. Put your money where you want, but PC was not a good team. They were so 1 dimensional it was unbelievable. They litterally could not throw the ball (they tried 3 times--all incomplete) and if my memory serves me right they never handed the ball off to anyone expect Harris. The QB ran a few times. I don't care how fast you are, if all you do is hand the ball to #24, he can be held in check. Richlands did play extremely well! But PC was not good at all, most teams in the SWD could have beaten them, Grundy may had had a chance (no offense to Grundy). Tazewell vs. Richlands - round 2 should be a great game. Both teams will be playing with alot of emotion. Turnovers will probably decide the game and I think it will be low scoring as both teams have good defense.
  13. Absolutely not!!!!! Tazewell's offense is so predictable it's a wonder they won 8 games. Wyatt has no creativity with his play calling. With the depth they have in the backfield they should be running several different formations with 2 and 3 back sets and using Muncy as a decoy more. They have speed and size in the backfield, standing on the side lines. If Wyatt had some imagination with his play calling and formations Tazewell would be hard to stop. He runs shotgun in 4th and a foot instead of comming under center. He tries to thorw the ball deep when it's wet and has already seen that if the ball is wet, Lockhart floats it when he throws deep and it's intercepted. That's happened in 3 games so far. Basically, if Tazewell had a good coach, they may be 10-0 right now and make a good run at a state championship. But that wont happen with Wyatt's play calling!!!!!!! Tazewell will be lucky to win 2 games in the playoffs, and they may only win 1.
  14. Actually I did watch them play last year (several games) and they had Fahardo (sp?), he could run. This year Richlands has no real running game other than Elswick and the only reason he gets such good yardage is everyone is so spead out you could drive a truck through the holes!!! Like I said, Richlands has no running game and when they play a team that can defend the pass, they are going to have problems.
  15. The Blues will not make it past Patrick County. RHS has a good defense but they have no running game outside of Elswick and once you start playing teams East of here they play pass defense better than what we're used to seeing. With RHS not having a good running back, it will make it even easier to stop their offense.
