  1. [ QUOTE ] Ahh I see. The Richlands numbers are "pencil whipped" but if Coach Simon says someone benched over 500 pounds it must be true... [/ QUOTE ] I'm just telling you guys what he told us. But seriously, I know quite a few former richlands players and everyone says that those numbers the coaches put in the newspaper before football season begins, are almost all pencil-whipped. And i know how die-hard those richlands fans are about their team and they wouldnt say anything against their team if it werent true. I'm not trying to down the boys from r-lands, I'm just saying what several of them have told me.
  2. [ QUOTE ] Danny Sparks was a tremendous football player. But he did not bench press 510 lbs. Talk about pencil-whipped. I know in '94 the top bench was McCommons with 385lbs. I was second with 365 lbs. Those number were not whipped with anything. [/ QUOTE ] Thats just what Coach Simon told us one day in the weightroom. I know the Sparks boy was strong. Isn't he the one who put the monstrous cut on Mccommons face after Sparks hit him during one game?? Everyone said the hit caused mccommons to blackout for a few mins.....that must've been a huge hit.
  3. I know two things as far as benching record go.. 1. The richlands "bench-a-thon" is a joke. Those kids do well but even former players from richlands will tell you that most of those numbers are pencil whipped big-time! I wouldnt buy into any of those numbers, especially the high ones. 2. I'm almost certain that the area record belongs to Danny Sparks of Tazewell. Coach Simon told us he benched 510 lbs back in 1994 for the Bulldogs. Thats NFL impressive, if you ask me. Did he go anywhere and play big-time college football??? Because he should have...I remember watching him play. A man among boys.
  4. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] what is the record? [/ QUOTE ] I believe the record stands at 430. [/ QUOTE ] are people really taking what the RHS coaches post in the "bench-a-thon" each year as those players' real bench press??.....i know quite a few people who played at richlands and they say that those numbers are pencil whipped big time.....in some cases by almost 100 lbs.....I know one guy who played there in 99 and 00. He said all he benched was 270 but when the paper came out with the "bench-a-thon" results he somehow managed to bench 345lbs....which he said he never benched...so can we really take what the richlands coaches say seriously?? as far as lifting records go?? NO offense to RHS, they have a great program down there but i dont buy into the lifting numbers those coaches come up with.
  5. [ QUOTE ] i'd say vick is faster than white? [/ QUOTE ] white runs a 4.37 40....what does vick run?? seriously, i'm just wondering
  6. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] white is better than vick......white runs better and his passer rating is above 70...way above 70, as in 160 some [/ QUOTE ] You really can't compare the QB rating between NCAA and NFL players, they use two completly diffent formulas. The NFL rating maxs out at 158.3. The NCAA formula dosn't max out, it can go as high as the numbers allow. And the calculations are different. [/ QUOTE ] oh i see...well, i didnt know that. I always thought that the lower nfl passer rating was due to the tougher competition. I may be wrong but this is something to think about mike vick's struggles in the nfl could cause many owners to look negatively upon pat white. Mike Vick cant get it done in the nfl so why take a chance on another running qb. I think that the struggles of mike vick in the nfl will sway owners away from other similar style qbs. i could be wrong but thats just my opinion.
  7. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] white is better than vick......white runs better and his passer rating is above 70...way above 70, as in 160 some [/ QUOTE ] 46-29 isnt exactly a close loss....more like a convincing victory. Nowhere close to what Vick was in college. Comparisons shouldn't even be made until White can lead WVU to the national title game and comes close to winning it. In other words, you'll never be able to make the comparison because he will never do it. [/ QUOTE ]
  8. white is better than vick......white runs better and his passer rating is above 70...way above 70, as in 160 some
  9. [ QUOTE ] i saw something earlier this year that had him ranked as the 10th best back in the nation sky is the limit next year when he is a senior. [/ QUOTE ] and playing the teams he plays against....bradshaw should finish no lower than 1600 yds next season, if he stays healthy. Its nice to see local talent excelling on the national stage.
  10. forgive me for asking but what does EAD mean??lol
  11. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] dawgs05 played 4 years for the vaught lead blues & played 4 for the e&h wasps under coach wacker in the great days at emory. talking about football is one thing but downing a 17 year old is another. your post was off line emotions or not - who cares if you live in tazewell still doesn't give you the right. nice comback w/ the e.a.d. still shows how classless you are!!!!!! [/ QUOTE ] Just like beaversfan93 said, if you have never spoken down on any local players then go ahead and cast the first stone. So, what you are telling me is that you have never spoken against any high school footballer??? yeah right, give me a break! You dogging me for something everyone has done actually shows how classless you are my friend!!!! Now, forgive me if you are perfect though. All i am saying is dont down me for something everyone does! [/ QUOTE ] dawgs, although you didnt have to publicly say what everyone knows was on the mind of all the tazewell fans. It still doesn't make it right. I was at that game and tell me who did play well for the dogs?? And to you blueneck nation, like i have already stated, if you have never downed any local athletes EVER then you can trash dawgs05 all you want. But since i cant say the same, i will not trash him for what he posted. Not the best choice of words from him though.
  12. [ QUOTE ] dawgs05 played 4 years for the vaught lead blues & played 4 for the e&h wasps under coach wacker in the great days at emory. talking about football is one thing but downing a 17 year old is another. your post was off line emotions or not - who cares if you live in tazewell still doesn't give you the right. nice comback w/ the e.a.d. still shows how classless you are!!!!!! [/ QUOTE ] Honestly, who has not downed any of the local high school kids?? IF you are faultless then let you cast the first stone. If not, the just drop the situation and hope your blues will beat graham on friday nite.
  13. dawgs05, i know you very well. you just let your emotions get to you. It happens to all of us sometimes. You're still a great guy in my book. Just dont let your emotions get to you so bad. Walker played his heart out and those kids just didnt get the job done. Respect to you, dawgs05 and respect to your team. Wyatt has a fine bunch of kids down there. I just hate that we allowed tolsia to pull out the win on us.
