  1. Coley White is pretty similar to his bro coming out of high school. I think Pat has more natural play making ability, but I don't think that Coley will be used as a QB. I think we will have the ability to bring in somebody that can be as dynamic as Pat and then use Coley at another skill position.
  2. If Bill Stewart keeps it up, we won't have any players. But if that is the way it is, so be it. He is trying to produce good young men and he isn't taking anything from anyone.
  3. [ QUOTE ] anyone see where paul pierce hit the 3 pointer and they called an offensive foul? [/ QUOTE ] Haha. Oh yes. That was the WORST call I have ever seen. What an idiot that ref is...
  4. Yea, I work for Bellacinos, which may not seem like a big thing around here, but it is a huge corporation. I am a big fan of the little man and I will hate to see the day when the little man and his business are no longer needed. I try my best to shop and eat at little mom and pop stores, but I think we are gonna need more people than me. But it is the things that help in the short term that wins elections in this country. Some people think in the future, but not enough to make that difference we need.
  5. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] sure, I'll give you a little reason why... Barack Obama wants to give undergraduate students $4000.00 to pay for tuition. So insted of having to take out thousands of dollars in loans and then pay that back plus intrest, he's helping us people whos parents don't pay for their college... [/ QUOTE ] In return, all colleges and universities will raise tuition by $5000... You all want to know the REAL reason the US dollar has been devalued??? Increase in minimum wage...and things will get worse over the next two years with the next two increases... [/ QUOTE ] But what about those of us who aren't out of school yet and maintaining a low pay job. Those increases in minimum have really helped me out. With the raising gas prices, the prices of things at stores are also increasing. What are they supposed to do, not raise it and force people to live on the streets because they can't pay their rent and get groceries? I understand your argument, but these two raises have been needed. I think we need to start using the martyr system again. It would really help out with the debt thing. We could trade a few countries some nukes for some oil...sounds good to me. (not really)
  6. Tech is in business. They are one hit from winning this one. If you aren't watching...you need to be now!!!!
  7. Spelling Bee. It cracks me up to watch these kids. Kobe or KG?
  8. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Bluefield High School has been blessed to have some great high school coaches in their rich history. The two most talked about now are of course Fred Simon and John Chmara. Chmara has had the field named in honor of him and Coach Simon will probably have something named in his honor one day. My question is, why isn't anything named for the late, great Merrill Gainer. Coach Gainer is a legendary high school coach yet nothing in Bluefield is named in his honor. While coaching at Bluefield from 1959-1968 he amased an amazing record of 87-6-1, recorded 5 unbeaten seasons and brought 4 state championships to Bluefield. I am just wondering why nothing is named in his honor... What are yalls thoughts? [/ QUOTE ] There are plans for a legends park at Mitchell Stadium for 2009. It will be between the south endzone fence and the concession stand. If the money can be raised, there are plans for statues of Coach Gainer,Bradley,Chmara, and Carlock. I think right now the problem will be fundraising for the statues, as I was told they cost about 10K apiece. [/ QUOTE ] I think maybe Stadium Drive should maybe be renamed to like Gainer Boulevard or something. The statues will be really nice too. I have heard they are finally building new locker rooms at the stadium and this is a great, great step in making that field the top in the state.
  9. That might be the game right there. Bad throw to first and A & M scores. Gonna need some late inning magic again to pull it out.

  11. [ QUOTE ] I remember when he was suppose to be the "savior" of Concord football. [/ QUOTE ] Wow...that is sad.
  12. [ QUOTE ] I hear he has the #11 recruiting class on rivals right now lol [/ QUOTE ] Concord has a recruting class? He could have Pete Carroll's class and have a losing season.
  13. [ QUOTE ] where is greg quick? [/ QUOTE ] HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! That really gave me a good laugh man. I saw him on campus last week and wanted to get an autograph from the winningless coach in history, but he was swamped with media. Shame, shame...
  14. [ QUOTE ] There will never be a fix for the economy. That issue has been discussed and debated by some of the greatest minds in our country. Every administration since Carter has attempted to find a solution. Aside from complete isolation from the outside world and complete self reliance there can be no fix. Others have found "band-aids" that appeared to be solutions but left voids elsewhere. At this point Band-aids are all that we as general citizens can expect from any administration. You cannot place responsibilty for our current issues soley on GWB. Every president for some time has inherited a "broken" system from the outgoing admin. Having said that, as someone who is still attempting to dig 15 months of Iraq sand from his crack and fighting a ringing in his ears from the many IED's, mortar rounds and heavy weapons fire, my opinion on this war is a simple one. While I did not agree with the reasons for going into Iraq something had to be done in that country. Sure we did not find WMD's but what we did find were mass burial sites. Warehouses with thousands of boxes of human reamins. Children left with no parents(some with torture inflicted disfigurements that are hard to describe without choking back a little bit hatred). A society that has been conditioned by its former government to hate the western world without any contact or understanding of it populace. I knew soldiers that are no longer here and know soldiers who are now faced with what might be their toughest personal battles. The one common thread that most share is patriotism. The willingness to shoulder a responsibilty that few feel challenged to accept. I won't taunt you for your beliefs or views on our government. That is your right. But, I assure you that it is a privelege you would not be able to exercise as a citizen in many countries of the world. [/ QUOTE ] Thank you Popeye. I am grateful for what you have done for this country. When I sit back and think if we needed help, I would want someone to stick their nose into the fight. I am sorry for all the hatred I have produced for me, and I am very proud to be an American.
  15. This economy is in big trouble. Did you get a chance to see the post I made including the national debt clock. It is rediculous. They act like money is just a thing on paper that doesn't cost when you print it out.
  16. I am not saying that it is hard to live in America, but the path our government has taken us is not a good one.
  17. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] We can sit here and argue all night. I will never agree with anything that you have to say about it and I know you will never see what is really happening here in this country. [censored] happens... Now I am too mad to go to sleep... Thanks! [/ QUOTE ] What am I missing???? Please enlighten me!!!! I have all my life... I dont think you have crap... Enjoy your night in a terrorist free zone... and thank God for what he has given you compared to what others have faced, even though you seem to take it for granted when others have fought so hard for us to get it... I pray that you become proud to be an American. [/ QUOTE ] I thank you for your prayers.
  18. [ QUOTE ] These people needed our help. We gave/are giving it to them. Without us, they would have no hope in life. Currently in Afghanistan 80% do have hope in life and feel optimistic about their future. Kinda wierd that they have so little compared to you and I and yet they are more optimistic about the future than you bogeavers. The Afghans and Iraqis havent given up yet, so why should we give up on them? [/ QUOTE ] I give up...I am done with this entire board... Okay...yea...that was a lie. But I am done with all of this. Honestly I probably did not mean half the stuff I said...I start saying irrational things when I get angry. If you couldn't tell...I was angry. Everyone have a blessed night.
  19. [ QUOTE ] Go ask the soldiers. They WANT to be over there, sure not all, but almost. Sure some die, but why dont you take into effect the amount of people who have died as citizens of Iraq or Afghanistan??? People who have no freedoms, of speech religon, or anything else. Do you know what Genocide is? people were dying for the sake of dying. THEY WERE HELPLESS. Why can't we help people who need help and quit thinking about how to get rich... like I said earlier, the enlistment rates are rising so your argument is void, the soldiers want to be there and know the burden and risks it entails. "We must always remember that America is a great nation today not because of what government did for people but because of what people did for themselves and for one another." -- Richard Nixon One another includes the helpless bogeavers. [/ QUOTE ] I might helpless...even hopeless, but that is how I am. I will probably lose a few friends over this [censored], but these are my beliefs.
  20. We can sit here and argue all night. I will never agree with anything that you have to say about it and I know you will never see what is really happening here in this country. [censored] happens... Now I am too mad to go to sleep... Thanks!
  21. [ QUOTE ] how can you think like that? You want your country to die? what kind of American are you? Are you even one? I have no clue how you could ever believe we are being fed the complete wrong side of the war, if anything, any news station shows the bad of war, except for fox. i believe Hokie07 had some great photos and stories about what great things our troops are doing over there, I would love for him to post them again. Finally, honestly people such as terrorists can take away everything from us except for three things our religon, our morals, and our patriotism. And to me they all run together. I never want to lose them. These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman." -- Thomas Paine If you're afraid of the future, then get out of the way, stand aside. The people of this country are ready to move again. - Ronald Reagan I will always stand with America, and I want what is best for it, unfortunately it is heartbreaking that you want something horrible to happen to a country that has given us so much... [/ QUOTE ] I dont want anything that is [censored] horrible. This country is killing itself.
  22. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Things have certainly gotten better in Iraq and Afghanistan. They has been a great amount of progress made in Iraq since General Petraeus (sp?) took over. We will prevail. [/ QUOTE ] agreed. Do not yield. Do not flinch. Stand up. Stand up with our President and fight. We're Americans. We're Americans, and we'll never surrender. They will. John McCain [/ QUOTE ] Then why the [censored] are so many kids dying? We might prevail in the end, but dammit how will that better us? Not in any [censored] way. Why do we always have to play the role of the pitier. These things have been happening in these countries for hundreds of years. What in the hell gives us the right to go stick out nose in their business? I honestly don't give a rat's ass what an Afghan thinks about it all. Them being happy is costing numerous families horrible pain and it pisses me off. This was the same deal in Somalia back in the early 90's. But that was over a lot quicker and 4,000 US soldiers didn't die. This "war" is rediculous and so is the government. [/ QUOTE ] take a step back and think about someone besides yourself. Think aboutlife with genocide. People just walking into houses and killing people for no reason. Like i said earlier, THE ENLISTMENT RATE IS GROWING... people want to fight this war... It is not for nothing... [/ QUOTE ] I am going to think about myself because that is all I have to appreciate. Keep throwing stats...4,000 dead and what have we done for our country again? [/ QUOTE ] First off, we have been free of terrorist attacks for 7 years, that is saying something... And any death is horrible, yes, but 4,000 over 7 years is not horrendous. In relation to US wars past it is nothing... [/ QUOTE ] It is something. Ask some parents who couldn't even bury their kids body because it was ripped apart. Or ask a mother who's son or daughter lost a limb or their lives over there. I bet you anything on this damn planet they won't say it is nothing. Oh yea, in past wars, we gained something for our country in the process.
  23. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] thats funny. Cause I dont see anything that shows that GWB went against anything he said... All you are doing is attacking the man not his policies or platforms, a logical fallicy called ad hominum which really does nothing for an argument... but the left wing media sure loves using it... [/ QUOTE ] This country has fallen apart over the past few decades. Our debt is a number so unreal that I can only laugh at it... It is seriously becoming hard to be an American. [/ QUOTE ] Then get the hell out. I will never lose faith as an American, I would go anywhere do anything to protect and serve my country. I would build a wall, go overseas, do anything asked to preserve this country that our forefathers fought so hard for. You truly sicken me for your lack on Patriotism. [/ QUOTE ] This country and some of its people sickens me. We are being fed the side of this war that they want us to hear. The side that makes it understandable. I hate to see our country go down the drain, but it is happening all around us. You can have your Patriotism and see where that gets you in life.
