  1. What would you call it then? Pretty sure that they (for the whole season) averaged about maybe 3 goals that were scored off of a cross, corner, or passing around the defense. Last I remember the stats ended up with them scoring 112 (don't quote me) goals in '07. Yeah they played a whole lot of chip and chase and any team that played against them knew that this was all that they had.
  2. shew, 18 innings is a long time to go without anyone scoring that is just crazy!!!! and from what I've heard they still have to finish playing the game.
  3. I really admire richlands girls for sticking with their program, I know that it has been a hard frist couple of years for them but I can really see improvement in their play. Good luck today richlands!
  4. Tazewell hasn't lost their ability to score; they have lost their striker from last year yes. But any soccer player would know that there is more than one way to score than chip and chase. That is the only way that they scored last year pretty much. Tazewell girls realize this and as they showed in the tournament on Saturday and Monday night that they can still score it just isn't a one man show anymore.
  5. Not really trying to promote highschoolsports.net (didn't think I was at least).....just trying to help. Sorry if I offended someone (wow some people are touchy)
  6. wouldn't it be so much easier if you just went to highschoolsports.net I mean it has all the schedules right there. Just saying.
  7. The Giants are my team and they are by far the under dogs i really think that they will win but again that could just be because they are my favorite anyway.
  8. All i know is that i'm pulling for the giants all the way!!!
  9. Couldn't agree more raz.....i mean come on if we would open our eyes we would realize that soccer in our area is not that great at all. just saying but hey you have to start somewhere.
  10. all i'm saying is that just going to state is a big deal coming from this area and everyone knows that the soccer programs are better in the abingdon area.
  11. Seriously guys we talk ourselves up to be big shots on the message board. Really we can't even compare ourselves to what soccer is like outside of our small hole in the ground. Down here Tazewell girls were a big fish in a small pond. It happens and we can't help the fact that there has only been a girl’s team in Tazewell for about 7 years maybe less not sure. But for as long as they have been a program just to get out of this region and go to state is a pretty big accomplishment. I didn't see in other team around here doing that.
  12. Alright guys just to clear a few things up, yes coaches can vote for their own players and Payne was talked up this year to be a whole bunch of nothing. Soccer is a sport of judgment calls, luck and yeah skill. Stuff happens, it is one thing to become frustrated with another player during a game but it is a whole different category when you become angry with a ref. The ref is not a player; he is not the person on the other team trying to score on you. He is a man with a job and you know what sometimes he makes mistakes, but that is part of soccer pick your head up and deal with them. I have no respect for a player or coach that argues with the refs they are in a position of authority and if you can’t deal with that I have a big question on the content of your character. EVERY team has calls for them and against them it is just a matter of which team deals the best with it and plays through it. As far as Kitts goes, I’ve come to the conclusion that goalkeepers control their defense (and I’m pretty sure that I’m right about this one). Kitts made her job easier by working with her defense and directing them in what they needed to do. She made the stops before she had to and yes I know that these saves don’t go down on paper as saves but that just shows that she is not in soccer for herself, she is in it for the love of the game.
