Show me an elite athlete that doesnt have a will to win. Is that supposed to make him special or something? If he has a great work ethic then why smoke dope? Did he spend his time in college working to help support his kid, working camps to better the youth, or out partying with his buds. give the guy time...he didn't exactly have a high bank roll going in to NY and he's only been there for a couple of months...plus how much do you think a 7th round draft pick makes a year? Come on....it's one fumble...I don't see what the guy's personal life has to do with things either. He's said he's going to clean up his act, now give him the chance. Is he so great just because he can play a little football. His child or children need support more than people from this area need a football hero to cheer for. Michael Vick is going to clean up his act too and now test positive for pot. Too many of these athletes wont change they just say it for pr reasons. Most AD's in Mercer County at least take care of scheduling and securing officials at their leisure. They do not have specific duties at specific times. They could fulfill all of their duties at times that do not conflict with their coaching responsibility.

There have been several coaches that coach one sport at one school and another sport at another school throughout the years. As long as there is not a conflict it has been allowed. There is also a principal from Mercer County that is an assistant coach, but was told that he could not be a head coach. Reason given was that as an assistant he was not the one in charge and if he had to miss to fulfill a principal duty, the head coach would still be there. As a head coach he would be in charge and they did not want a principal in that position. You would of course not be allowed to coach football at two schools. You CAN however coach a fall sport (football, volleyball, or golf) at one school, a winter sport (basketball) at another school, and a spring sport (baseball, track, softball) at a third school. I dont make the rules just have to live with them.

Isnt Todd Baker an assistant principal or something in Tazewell County? If so Mercer County will not let a principal be a head coach of a sport. Two many conflicts with their duties as principal and coaching.

Let's live in this year why dont we. The ACC is currently 16-8 in non conference games. The Big East 18-5. hmmmmm. Now before all you Tech fans start screaming who have you beat the Big East is 2-0 against the ACC. WVU over Maryland. UCONN over Duke. ACC's best win over a non conference opponent is the great Notre Dame. You think Im kidding here is the list: Furman, Louisiana Monroe, Villanova, Florida Inter(twice), Marshall, UAB, Colorado, ECU, Ohio (not state), Samford, Army, Wofford, North Western, James Madison (shame on them for playing 1 old guy).
