  1. anyone have an update here?
  2. PDiddy and PDubs...I sure do miss 2010 Bahahahaha...
  3. tpotter9, you are right haha! But it still is fun to think about...if we could put TV 09, TV 06, Council 01, and Hurley 2011 in one bracket and let them all pool play eachother haha, too bad we don't have the kind of technology for that time travel yet lol
  4. I wish the best of luck to this Hurley team, I truly do, but Council would beat them by as much as they wanted too...the 2001 team that is, and the TV 2006 team would have hung 90 on them, KT and Kent would have dogged the crap out of the Hurley guards, they were something else...Garrett Horne from the 08 and 09 TV teams is probably one of the best point guards to play in the BDD in a long time, better than KT in my opinion, I hope the best for the Peck kid, seems like a smart kid, but he has a long way to go to even be considered being mentioned with those two guys!! And the 08-09 TV team was pretty darn good too, I never seen that team lose many games and were state competitors every year, and were a very deep team with Simpson, Smith, and Horne leading the way! I don't know how well Hurley of this year could hold up with these teams!
  5. Jeremy Ratliff, Ryan Ratliff, Ben Jackson, Brad Nuckles, and James Nuckles....all scored over 1000...Logan Shortridge, Kent Goodman, K.T. Vandyke, Jermiah Lester, and Matt Baldwin...all scored over 1000!
  6. Please excuse my grammatical errors, was typing in a hurry lol...
  7. I can appreciate your opinion, and I hope you respect mine...I just do not see the tall skinny kid from Hurley doing anything with Nuckles, Jacob Colley, Matt Baldwin...and Council from 2001 and TV from 2006 beat Hurley by 20+ easily...all 5 starters on each team scored over 1000 points when the competition was 10fold better than nowadays...not trying to cause controversy....but I think anyone who thinks this years Hurley team could make it a decent game with either of those teams are crazy! Those two teams are arguable two of the best SWVA has ever seen!
  8. Well the way I see it, any of the Honaker, Haysi, Council teams up through about 2004, then the TV and Honaker teams from 2006-2009 could beat this Hurley team. The council teams from early in the decade, and TV teams from the later part in the decade would beat this Hurley team by 10+...agreed Hurley should go all the way this year, and this is kind of a pointless argument...I am just stating that competition has gone wayyy down! Anyone who disagrees with that statement obviously did not watch much basketball from 5-10 years ago, to nowadays! Again....best of luck to all the teams in the area!!
  9. I usually do not post anymore, because I am out of high school and doing my own thing, but I did go to a few games last year, and I will just say this....competition has decreased dramatically each year over the past 6 or 7 years...not taking anything away from this Hurley team, but from 2005-2009 they would have just been another team, more than half of the teams in the area were wayyyyy better than they are now! With that said, best of luck to all SWVA teams this year!
  10. Council - 2000 - State Semi's Council - 2001 - State Champs Council & Honaker - 2002 - State Semi's Twin Valley 2006 - State Runner Ups Twin Valley 2008 - State Semi's Twin Valley 2009 - State Semi's Hurley 2011 - ????
  11. Well I know one thing, the talent rolls in cycles. Look back into the last 15 years or so of the BDD. the later part of the 90s up to around 02 were dominated by council and haysi with several final four appearances a piece, then honaker joined in from about 00 to 04 or so, and have been consistent ever since, Honaker was definitely a contender those years. Then Twin Valley started to come around in 04-05 and were clearing everyone out in the district til about 09. Now Hurley has the squad to beat, and this group of athletes will be seniors next year. So after next year do not be surprised if a Haysi or Council pick things back up and start doing well again, not saying Hurley can not do well after these athletes leave, I am just stating history. The winning goes in cycles. Good luck to all BDD teams in the Region D tourney!!
  12. Yes, she scored it on an "and 1" layup in the first quarter. The 22nd girl in Virginia's history to score 2000!! She is a very humble person, very kind, lives her life right, and will do great things!! She is also a dear friend of mine! Congrats Katie Jo!!!
  13. You know that isn't true. Florida wanted him to become their new head coach, he passed. Miami wanted him to become their new head coach as well...same story. He is wanting to build something there for some reason, he doesn't want to go anywhere. Even Notre Dame wanted him last year, he said he was a Miss St. member....so we will see.
  14. Don't be surprised if Dan Mullen gets Miss. St. going in the next 5 years or so. He is a high sought after coach, but he will not leave Miss., for what reason is beyond me, but he is killing in recruiting, and was Chris Leak and Tim Tebow's coach at Florida at quarterback coach and offensive co. So be ready for them to make some serious noise in the next few seasons!!
