  1. Just watched the Radford-Wythe game and the Bobcats offense is really impressive. Galax will have to tackle exceptionally well in space because Radford does an outstanding job of getting their guys into one-on-one situations with defenders. I also like the way that they create mismatches and pick on opposing defenders in man-to-man situations. Going to be a tough night slowing them down without the help of the elements. The reverse flea flicker screen pass was fun to watch. Might be the first time that I've seen that.
  2. Saw report of Northwood 29-8 over Twin Springs
  3. Don't know the geography well enough to give you a dividing line but when we tried dividing things up a few years back, we called this is the SWVA area... Abingdon Bland Carroll County Castlewood Central-Wise Chilhowie Eastside Fort Chiswell Galax Gate City George Wythe (Wytheville) Graham Grayson County Holston Honaker Hurley J.I. Burton John Battle Lebanon Lee Marion Narrows Northwood Patrick Henry (Glade Springs) Richlands Ridgeview Rural Retreat Rye Cove Tazewell Thomas Walker Twin Springs Twin Valley Union Virginia
  4. I could be WAY off on this, but I think after some initial scuttlebutt, the media and SJW's will back off pretty quickly. Not a big enough target for them.
  5. Math cause too much brain hurt. Me use this...
  6. While the Tidewater admins are certainly not in love with the travel associated with the new alignment, in truth, there is probably more consensus dissent coming from Richmond (or, at least, that has been what was indicated to me by several sources in the meetings). I have consistently visited here about 3-4 times weekly for the last couple of months trying to learn more. So far, so good, I think.
  7. I don't and haven't taken any of the attacks personally. From time to time, I appear on a High School Sports talk show on Saturday mornings on ESPN radio in Tidewater and, on that show, routinely chastise Tidewater administrators for their complaints and have said several times that "maybe they should call the AD's living out West" about how to handle budgets and traveling. I am roundly criticized on this side of the state for my stance on this issue and have publicly debated it several times in print, on radio and face-to-face with admins. When one Tidewater AD complained in the newspaper that his "small town" buses could not make it past Richmond, I suggested on the radio that he should call people out West to inquire about where they buy their Super Buses that drive over mountains. I'll leave the politics alone, as you said, not my area of concern. We've not been good about covering that part of the state. We are trying to change that. Criticizing/Yelling at me is fine but it is not a part of a solution which, I assume, is the higher goal here. It is for me.
  8. Step One: Check. I'm here asking for input. Ready for next step.
  9. Again, if you have a viable plan for how VirginiaPreps.com can do a better job of covering the SWVA area, please let me know. I will implement the changes, if possible.
  10. Sorry if I am being obtuse, but I don't understand your post. I don't think that I have asked anyone here to beg for anything nor do I think that I have treated anyone here like an idiot. I'm sorry if you got that impression. ETA: We have recognized that our coverage of SWVA has been substandard. Therefore, I have taken to visiting this site as much as possible to increase my knowledge of the area in hopes of providing more coverage. In addition, I believe that I have reached an agreement with G-Man to include his thoughts on our top ten rankings for both the 1A and 2A classes. I'm certainly open for suggestions from you as well if you have a viable plan for how we can get better.
  11. We are aiming more towards partially-attempting to be semi-serious.
  12. I don't know that I would say "never". Just need to figure out a way to do it that makes sense for both staff and users. Hope to do better this year than we have in the past. Thanks for your feedback and good luck to all your teams.
