One of the best 8th grade teams I ever saw was last years Princeton WV team. They came down and put the beat down on Gate City's 8th grade team that was undefeated in VA. I dont know why Princeton cant do well in High School as well as those 8th grade kids are coached. Those kids really knew their stuff!

A truce it is. As for you believing Abingdon will be good that is great. If no one believed in their team then what is the use in watching them? You can tell Abingdon has improved a lot from last year. Norton is no slouch and the Falcons played within a 2 point conversion of sending that game to OT.

You have me in tears! Damn good thing I was not drinking anything when I read the part of the best thing of me! I must be doing great if thats the best part of me! I admit you got me and I have no comeback nor am I mad over that comment. I like to have a little fun on here at times and this one has been fun. But it does get old coming here having to wade through all the Richlands does this or that comments to read actuall good posts. You have not been the only one to post such comments and wont be the last. Everyone does know Richlands gets a lot of good transfers some years but that is not what makes them good. They are good because they live and breath football. They work very hard in the offseason to be good. They also have a great feeder program. When you have success in a sport kids will come to your school to become a part of that success. I doubt the coaches have to do anything to lure those kids there. Best thing other schools need to do is not cry about it but work harder and become better. Since Gate City and Richlands started playing again in 2001 both have 5 wins against the other. When GC loses to Richlands you will not hear GC say only reason RHS won was because the Tornados recruit. We always say the better team won and keep working hard so we can come back the next year and have a great game with a possible victory. Richlands has a damn good program. If you take away the transfers they do have this year I could still see them going 10-0.

You have just 7 posts and looks like your only purpose for registering here is to cry a river of how Richlands recruits. I am very sorry no one wants to play for or give two shits about Abingdon. Speaking of Harry Fry days Gate City beat DB in 1970 by the score 44 to 16.

They do. There was another school that opened up in D2 this year. East Rockingham with 675 students. I think all three picked up a lot of out of state teams and I know the two D3 schools played each other for the first game of the year and will play again at the end of the season. They opened these schools in the middle of the two year cycle when most VA schools in their districts were in the middle of their 2 year contracts.

Looking at the Division 3 numbers the biggest school in that division is Milbrook High School with 1242 students. Thats just 100 less than TN High. Dont know if any of the Richlands fans know this but there was Two new schools opened and put in Region II Division 3. They are Woodgrove with 1009 students and Tuscarora with 1000. They dont appear to be doing well this year but they are new.

When it does happen the CMD will be the old Southwest District sorta. Right now it is like the old Highlands.

You was definately close. Personally I wish you guys were Division 2. It would help us to get better and better each year. We got room in the CMD when you are ready! Also truth be known I miss us playing in D3. I loved playing up and was very excited to hear when talk first started of forming the CMD. The CMD has that old feeling of D3 ball with the only thing missing is us playing Graham for the Region Title.

In state enrollments seen here. http://www.vhsl.org/files/fb-divisions-2009-10.pdf Richlands has exactly 100 more students than Gate City does and just 12 more than the biggest D2 school. RHS 781 GCHS 681. The biggest D2 school is Central Woodstock with 769 students. Out of state enrollments found here. http://www.vhsl.org/files/fb-outofstate-divisions-2010.pdf Greenville TN only has 892 students, South has 1094, TN High has 1342, and the biggest Northeast TN school is Science Hill with 2158.

What most dont realize is that Richlands once they have made it to the Semis and Finals play teams with enrollments the size of Tennessee Highs enrollment. If THS was in Region 2 they would be on the verge of being either D 3 or D4.

2002, 2003, and 2004 GC teams. 2004,2005, 2006 Richland teams. 2004 PV team. This years Richlands team I would almot garuntee would beat the 2004 THS team. The others I mentioned would give them a game with the exception of the 2002, 2003 GC team. Those two teams would have no problem winning either. The 2002 GC team was better than the 03 team but just peaked way too early.

No its not ASU-Michigan. It is way worse! I think App State won the Title in their division that year.

PV could suit up their cheerleaders and still beat Richlands easily. This is Phils last year as their coach and he will be heading out with one last State Championship this year. Richlands is in a world of hurt tonight.;)

They are only 5a in TN but are the same size as some of the Region II Division 3 teams. GC has beat bigger and more talented teams than this years South team.
