I'd love to win the game but at the very least I hope its competitive like it was in Baton Rouge last year. With all of the WVU to the SEC chatter going on, I would like to have a good showing.

That is absolutely the key for WVU winning this game. However, the offense can put up points so it also depends on how that goes. LSU's back seems to be a monster. Home field advantage will definitely help.

Not entirely true. Right now it's looking like WVU has a very good chance at being the 14th in the SEC but also is not out of the picture of joining the ACC.

Also, there is nothing wrong with having two successful programs in the state. Never said that was a problem. The problem I have is Marshall fans thinking they are big time when they are not. I don't consider my own team as being "big time" but at the end of the day they ARE the state's flagship University and always will be. I also get tired of hearing this crap of WVU holding Marshall back. If you knew anything that was going on you would know that WVU was the ONLY school who supported Marshall as a possible move to the Big East during the realignment of 2003. Also for any Hokie fans trying to chime in, there was a thread from a few weeks ago when you were claiming your superiority over teams like UVA and UT.

Haha that has VERY little to do with the opponent but more so the fact that WVU fans can go see their team play without having to travel very far. Just like VA Tech fans will buy a lot, not because they are just dying to see Tech play Marshall.

That makes no sense. WVU doesn't have to be better in every aspect. Marshall may be better than WVU in a lot of things. Football is not one of them.

Actually it's a perfect example as why most retail stores carry WVU gear instead of Marshall.

I don't disagree with you on that. Manchin is an idiot. Some Marshall fans even felt like they should have been invited to the Big East back in 2005. From a geographical standpoint it makes total sense but here is what these guys don't who complain about it don't understand. Their stadium holds 38,019. Last year their average attendance was 27,046 which means that it was 71% capacity. WVU on the other hand seats 60,000 and averaged 56,325, a 93% capacity.

Also, it's not an elitist mentality it's just the truth. WVU IS the state's flagship University and it always will be. People in the state identify with WVU and very rarely with Marshall unless they go there or live in Huntington.

The same legislature that forced WVU and Marshall to play a football series? Yes, they are holding down the state while worrying about college football games.

Actually I use to root like hell for Marshall and then several of their fans got big heads and thought because they dominated I-AA that they would come in and do the same in I-A. If they would simply accept their role as little brother then I wouldn't have a problem with them.
