  1. That's ridiculous. Do they even know if those were real cops? Part of the article mentioned that the police departments didn't know about the traffic stop. Don't officers radio in every time they stop someone?
  2. Deer and skunks are all over the place here in the Bristol/Washington County area (I usually see about 10 or more deer every other night/morning on my road alone and possoms, racoons, and skunks galore every day). Snakes are a different story. I usually see a little gardner snake or a black snake every once in a while (which are appreciated for keeping the mice away), but I can't remember the last time I saw a copperhead or anything else.
  3. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/02/13/lehigh-university-graduate-student-sues-school-says-c-plus-cost-her-13m/?intcmp=obnetwork This is ridiculous. The teacher said she didn't behave professionally in class, so the poor participation grade she recieved dropped her overall grade to a C+, just keeping her from getting her degree (she ended up getting a masters for something else). So now the student is suing the teacher and school for $1.3M (what she claims she lost by not getting that degree) and for a better grade. And of course they're throwing up the gay marriage thing for the student's defense....couldn't be that the student just didn't take the class seriously enough, could it?
  4. So does anyone know how regional tournaments are set up this year? I specifically want to know about Region D D2. I know that they are letting all 10 teams in and I was wondering how they'll seed those teams (points system, overall records, or some other thing?).
  5. That's really weird. I assume that the snake are for the owls to eat maybe? But it's still crazy to use such a dangerous snake.
  6. Why in the world did they put rattlesnakes there?
  7. http://now.msn.com/karen-and-jim-reynolds-likely-wont-get-chris-dorner-reward?ocid=ansnow11 So what does everyone think about this? Should they get the reward money or not? I know the reward called for the "capture and conviction" of Dorner, but it's pretty low that these people called 911 and led police to find him, then have their cabin burned to the ground, all after being tied up and terrified by Dorner, only to recieve nothing. And does anyone know if the cops really were the ones that burned down the cabin? If so, they should at least pay the couple back for that.
  8. http://www.tricities.com/news/local/article_ce656c9e-76cf-11e2-a261-0019bb30f31a.html Looks like homeschoolers in Virginia won't be able to play sports at public schools. Those on the homeschoolers' side have a good point about their tax money going to public schools and funding those schools' athletics, but Sen. Saslaw made a better point when he told one parent "Your taxes also purchase an F-22 jet fighter, but that doesn't give you the right to fly it."
  9. BTW, I came across this yesterday and couldn't resist... http://xkcd.com/1173/
  10. http://www.yardbarker.com/mlb/articles/msn/topps_eliminates_pete_rose_from_record_books/12908281?ocid=ansfox11 What is with everyone going after Pete Rose so much? Juicing yourself up illegally to gain an advantage is perfectly fine (sure people whine about it from time to time, but nothing's ever done) but God forbid that you gamble, you'll lose everything.
  11. I was just kidding with you, lol. I just saw where you posted this on the CMD board and not on here, so I did it (apparently like an hour before you did). I was serious about the info thing though. I get some for Battle's games since I'm there filming it, but you manage to get WAY more info than anyone else, so I'll just leave it up to your thread. Also, I thought about checking the BHC article too, but I was just too lazy, lol.
  12. http://news.msn.com/us/ex-cop-exchanges-fire-with-authorities?ocid=ansnews11 Looks like it'll be over soon. Dorner has barricaded himself inside a cabin and he's been in a shootout with the police, injuring two officers. I just don't see him surviving this, either getting killed by the cops or taking his own life.
  13. Mine was up first! :p (but I'll let you take it from here...you get way more info than I do)
  14. Thanks for the info. I completely forgot about that game. Schedule is now updated.
  15. I honestly didn't think he'd last that long as Pope. He looked like he was on the verge of death when he took office. Though I figured he'd die suddenly before he'd resign.
  16. http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-202_162-57568652/pope-benedict-xvi-resigns-full-text-of-announcement/ Wow. First Pope to resign from office in about 600 years.
  17. From the CMD forum: Per KTN... 18. http://www.tricities.com/sports/article_56c8328e-71ac-11e2-8adb-001a4bcf6878.html Coach Wright of John Battle has been chosen as the Bristol Herald Courier's Coach of the Year. Great article, too.
  19. Kind of like the current arguments over legislation to grade schools on an A-F grading scale. Seriously, what's the big deal with that?
  20. http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/02/06/virginia-is-one-step-closer-to-returning-to-gold-standard/ I think it's neat to think about (and I'd love to see what a new Virginia currency would look like) but is this even remotely possible? I have my doubts that it'll even pass the senate.
  21. All I ever get on Saturdays is junk mail anyway, lol. They're also keeping package delivery on Saturdays which is a smart move if that end of business is growing like they say.
  22. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/politics/clout/chi-quinn-to-call-for-minimum-wage-increase-to-10-an-hour-20130206,0,3493991.story He wants to raise the state's minimum wage from $8.25/hr to $10/hr. I'm sure employees will be very happy, but how will this affect businesses since they'll have to pay employees more?
  23. http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/federal-eye/wp/2013/02/06/u-s-postal-service-to-halt-saturday-mail-starting-august-1/ What I want to know is why Congress hasn't let the USPS do this before? What's their problem with 5-days-a-week mail service? If it'll really save $2B a year, then just do it!
