If that was #60, (  I don't know all the players yet )  he went back in and played some more after they checked him out on the bench.  I have no idea as to what his injury was,  but he did go back in.  I hope somebody that may know more can let us know if he had any issues after the Jamboree.

I think Hyder is #56. It happened very late in the scrimmage.

  2. You should had listened to the idiots on the radio!! They complained enough for everyone in Tazewell County!

No need for name calling, sir. As one of those "idiots", we were simply describing the field conditions to our listeners since it played a significant role in the game for both teams. I don't believe we placed blame on anyone but Mother Nature. My apologies if you took our descriptions personally or if you are in some way responsible for the field conditions.

  3. I hate hearing all the leaving early talk...makes me start playing the "what if" game. Like this...if they hadn't left early, this year's VT team would have had both Ryan Williams and David Wilson at RB and Jayron Hosley at DB. Sure could've used them.

  4. You would think there would be some kind of plan to get cars out of the parking lot??

I was in the press box til nearly 10:45p and when we left, we still had to wait in a line to get out of the lot! I couldn't believe it. I thought there must have been something going on in City Park that caused delays that late.

  5. I look for Richlands to win but not by alot. I think this year the Blues will be in more games than people are custom to (everyone is use to being up by 30 or 40 at halftime). This team will grow and get better. I think we have a solid team but not as flashy as we have been.

They certainly didn't look flashy against Bassett. The offense looked like an old Bill Dooley coached team. I'm hoping they were just working on the running game since they've worked with the receivers all summer in the 7 on 7 games. Defense looked pretty stout.

  6. Yep. He was 8 yards deep in the end zone and two or three Taz players late hit him. Wasn't anything helmet-to-helmet, or anything like that. But it was indeed a late hit.

Thanks for the explanation. I couldn't imagine what they had to celebrate once I saw that it was a TD.

You know it's a bad year when all you have to celebrate is a big hit on a 3rd team RB...who had already pulled up 8 yds deep in the end zone...after scoring the team's 68th point on you....smh.

  7. I'll probably catch it again for this.....but here goes.......#62 for Richlands was hit by his own player #7 for Richlands and sustained a ruptured spleen with internal bleeding.......that is on a game disc......got one right here......

I have a question about the last score for Richlands on the run by Click. I was watching from the press box side and couldn't see very well, but a group of Bulldog players looked to be celebrating in the end zone after the play, chest bumping and such, so I thought he must have fumbled until Strong came on for the extra point. The guy beside me said he thought they had "laid out" a Richlands player on the play and were celebrating that, but I didn't see anyone injured or even slow to get up. When I heard about Beavers' injury I thought it may have happened on that play but apparently not. Just wondering what really happened there.

  8. I've heard the same about the quality of athletes coming up in Abingdon. I'm a Blue Tornado fan, but the reign can't last forever. Last year's 8th grade team was 0 for ever how many they played...so the balance of power may be shifting very soon.
