The trip to the woodshed last week may have been the appropraite wake up call the Hurley Rebels needed as they introduced Unaka to there own version of it tonight with a dominating 32-6 victory. Hurley controlled this game from the first series of the game (capped by Shane Justice's 70+ yard touchdown scamper) all the way through. Hurley looked the best they have looked since I began following in '03. On both sides of the ball, everybody played tough, hard-nosed ball. Offensively, Hurley out-blocked and then out-ran Unaka all night as Justice had two long TD runs tonight (he went over 200 on roughly 13-16 carries). In addition to that, Nathan Justus went over 100 rushing with one TD and added another TD on 3 receptions.

Defensively, everybody on the whole team stepped up and brought everything they had. The Dline was penetrating all night, the DEs caused a lot of problems, the LBs didn't let anything past them, and the Secondary played great containing a very talented WR from Unaka to just 2 receptions and 1 TD (which came against the 2nd string). Hurley even had a INT return for a touchdown tonight to cap an impressive performance (Unaka probably only had 125 total yards and 6; not bad considering they averaged 38+ in two scrimmages and one regular season game).

Next week, Ervington. Cannot wait. Any word on how they did against Pound?
