In the Lebanon and Honaker game, Lebanon kicked off the start the game, and then to start the second half they kicked off again, can anyone tell me why this would have happened, no one from Lebanon's side lines was throwing a fit so it must not have been an officials mistake.

Honaker probably won the toss and defered the option to kick or receive until the second half. Lebanon must have decided to kick to start the game and then when Honaker had the choice in the 2nd half they of course wanted the ball and chose to receive.

The winner of the coin toss has the option to kick, receive, or defer. If they choose to defer then the option to kick or receive goes to the loser of the toss. Probably Honaker won and deferred, then Lebanon chose to kickoff, then at the start of the second half Honaker chose to receive.

What happened most likely was that they won the toss and elected to kickoff (rather than defer choice) by mistake, the coach said we want to play defense first and the captain took it he wanted to kick off and they coach actually wanted the kid to defer....I have seen this happen early in the season when the Captains are nervous, a good coach would make this clear to the kids before they go out for the toss.
