uscgamecocks 10 Report Share Posted September 1, 2005 These gas prices are outrageous, I know that the storm shut down some oil rigs in the gulf coast--but Bush needs to get his priorities in-line and find a way to fix all this.
BigD4VT 11 Report Share Posted September 1, 2005 Shut down oil rigs AND refineries. Bush released oil from the reserves but you still need refineries to turn it into gas.
uscgamecocks 10 Report Share Posted September 1, 2005 Yeah, I heard on the radio coming home today, that he released some oil from the reserves, but more needs to be done, negotiations with the the oil companies, new deals made, just something. America cant deal with this kind of prices for oil.

Blues_56 23 Author Report Share Posted September 1, 2005 It's starting to look just like that movie that was on FX about 2 months ago..."Gas War" or sumting like that it showed gas being 5 even 6 dollars in the movie and now....areas surrounding ATL there is a gas station selling for $5.

They can't get the rigs and refineries back up any sooner. It's an issue of supply not being able to meet demand. We as Americans can do more by carpooling, turning off the AC, and walking/biking instead of driving short distances.
Grundy10 10 Report Share Posted September 1, 2005 I completely agree Big D....When 95% of the Gulf's oil producers have been shut completely down there isnt much that can be done.
