sandman 13 Report Share Posted September 8, 2005 Graham by 20? Whoa there big boy! We tend to struggle with the Indians/Bruins down there. (2001 ring a bell?) And this may be the first week where the opposing team has access to thier starting QB for all 48 mins. Lets not fire up the ole' G-Men Juggernaught-mobile just yet, my freind. My prediction: A one touchdown tossup, and low scoring as well.
GMan 3,569 Author Report Share Posted September 8, 2005 Blacksburg is young and inexperienced this year plus they start a FRESHMAN QB, who is, from what I've heard and read, the best player on the team. Blitzes from every direction will have this young man befuddled all evening and Graham may go 3 for 3 on starting QBs...B-burg's coaches may take him out so that he doesn't get injured... ------------------------------------------------------------ Giles 26, Blacksburg 14: Giles tailback Ricky Cook scored all four touchdowns to lead the Spartans in a nondistrict game in Pearisburg. Cook finished with 37 carries for 176 yards. Bruins freshman Trey Gresh completed 14-of-22 passes for 164 yards and an interception. He also ran for a score. Running back Latrell Keys scored on a 93-yard kickoff return in the second quarter for the Bruins. The Spartans' Ryne Hevener added 19 carries for 147 yards. Giles 0 12 8 6--26 Blacksburg 0 7 7 0--14 G -- Cook 2 run (kick failed) G -- Cook 2 run (pass failed) B -- Keys 93 kick off return (Cooke kick) B -- Gresh 8 run (Cooke kick) G -- Cook 35 run (Tanner run) G -- Cook 4 run (pass failed)
