Deleted Account 5,203 Report Share Posted December 9, 2005 Lookin' at the broad scheme of it all, minor league baseball players DO count as professional athletes. In that regard, there may be. We won't know that for a few years yet.

Fresh_Prince 10 Author Report Share Posted December 11, 2005 If you go to showcases and things at colleges, you will have a better chance at getting to go to college and start getting recognized by pro scouts.

[/ QUOTE ]  I'm sure that I could do a bang up job as GM for the Dodgers. At the very least, I wouldn't hose things up as badly as DePodesta did. Alas, Frank McCourt did not return my calls.  Now that I think about it, I don't know that it would hurt the team at all if I were an active member of the infield. Wonder when they're having another open tryout..... DukieV 10 Report Share Posted December 22, 2005 baseball isn't the toughest sport because you really don't have to be in shape to play.
beaverbaseball 10 Report Share Posted December 22, 2005 [ QUOTE ] baseball isn't the toughest sport because you really don't have to be in shape to play. Â [/ QUOTE ] Â Are you saying catching a football, shooting a basketball, kicking a soccer ball, is harder then hitting a 90MPH + fast ball...don't think so(in my opinion)
lee 10 Report Share Posted December 22, 2005 dukiev plays baseball.. he knows its hard but you dont have to be in shape to play it.
Fresh_Prince 10 Author Report Share Posted December 22, 2005 You do have to be in shape to play baseball, what if you hit a triple, or get caught in a run down, it is tough. In football you usually just run short sprints, not long ones. Basketball is tough because you have to be in great shape, but anybody can shoot a ball through a hoop. Not just anybody can hit a 90 mph fastball.
lee 10 Report Share Posted December 22, 2005 but do you have to be in shape to hit the baseball. no just have good hand eye coordation. runners help for those who isnt in shape. But pro-baseball you do need to be in shape.
rhsfan88 22 Report Share Posted December 22, 2005 I would say you would have to be in decent shape to hit a baseball. You have to be very quick when hitting. If you aren't very active you will have slow reflexs and not be to quick to hit very well.
