Fresh_Prince 10 Report Share Posted June 2, 2006 Richlands played with them but didn't hit very good at all. Dan River brung in there ace in the end and he shut them down. He was throwing high 80's. It also doesn't help any when Aaron Buchanan from Tazewell is telling Dan River where each one of Richland's playes hits the ball. One reason SWD teams lose when they get to region is because all the teams in the Piedmont have better pitching. The SWD just doesn't see pitching like that every game like Dan River and Tunstall. Maybe we need to get our kids started earlier since we are so far behind in pitching.
RHS5346 10 Report Share Posted June 3, 2006 Hopefully he took a job AT Dan River!!!...I heard from someone that Tim Rasnick thinks he is the best waterboy that has ever been at Tazewell.
WHSHokies 10 Report Share Posted June 3, 2006 They also they were a better coached team. A good coach doesn't play junior varsity players, with seniors sitting on the bench and squeeze bunting with two strikes on the batter. In my opinion the coach lost the game. bluesfans 10 Report Share Posted June 4, 2006 I would agree, it was great the squeeze worked once, it was a surprise, I think that is how it is sopposed to be done. But really three times in a row, give me a break.

Besides that, isn't it nice to know that just raw talent can hang pretty well with these guys who, obviously, pitch and play baseball year-round? lee 10 Report Share Posted June 4, 2006 SWD has some of the best all around athelets in AA state, you can tell that by our football teams and our other teams that can hang in there with anyone from the state.
GMan 3,569 Report Share Posted June 4, 2006 [ QUOTE ] Maybe we need to get our kids started earlier since we are so far behind in pitching. [/ QUOTE ] Maybe TEACHING the kids BETTER FUNDAMENTALS at an earlier age would be a good start. Also, it would help if coaches didn't use the SAME pitcher as often as possible...I've seen several kids arms deteriorate over the years from the time they start high school ball until the time they are seniors (can name a couple of them from Graham off the top of my head)...young arms need time to rest too!
