rhsfan88 22 Report Share Posted May 25, 2007 I believe the Patrick Co/Dan River at Richlands softball game is going to be played at 7:30 to allow for people to go to the Richlands baseball game earlier that afternoon or at least that is what I was told today. rhsfan88 22 Report Share Posted June 1, 2007 Does the winner of Region IV play loser of Region III and loser of Region IV play winner of Region III? Also, where will first round of state games be played?
Beamerball 566 Author Report Share Posted June 1, 2007 Yeah, that's it. The winner gets to host a first round game and the loser travels to play the winner of Region III. The quarterfinals of the baseball tourney are June 5, at 7 p.m. II #2 @ I #1 IV #2 @ III #1 Winners to play Friday, June 8 at Calffee Park in Pulaski, at 11 a.m. I #2 @ II #1 III #2 @ IV #1 Winners to play Friday, June 8 at Calffee Park in Pulaski, at 2 p.m Championship, Saturday, June 9 at Radford Univ., 2 p.m. http://www.vhsl.org/BBAABRAK.pdf Softball http://www.vhsl.org/Softball/2007-SB-AA.htm
BigD4VT 11 Report Share Posted June 1, 2007 So Richlands has another game regardless if they beat VHS? And they could possibly face Hidden Valley?
Beamerball 566 Author Report Share Posted June 1, 2007 Yep, they're advancing regardless and Hidden Valley could potentially be the next game. That's the first thing that crossed my mind when I seen Hidden Valley had advanced.
mv91 259 Report Share Posted June 1, 2007 Would be nice for Richlands to beat VA High and get Hidden Valley at home. Anyone think Barnett will pitch again Saturday for RHS or will Kris Null get the start? Either way, both are quality pitchers.
rhsfan88 22 Report Share Posted June 1, 2007 Throw Null againist VHS, it's his turn to start again and plus you will have Barnett fully rested for the quarters.
mv91 259 Report Share Posted June 1, 2007 That was my thinking also. I guess with 48 hours between games, Barnett would be available in relief. Who else pitches for rhs? if necessary?
rhsfan88 22 Report Share Posted June 1, 2007 Ethain Keene is probablly the number 3 starter, then you have Nick Pruett has thrown some and I think Shane Wicks has pitched in a couple games this year. I would say your only going to see the big 2, Null and Barnett, the rest of the way.
Beamerball 566 Author Report Share Posted June 1, 2007 Va High's top pitcher, Grimm, threw just 4 innings (no hitter) in the Carroll County game. I believe their next one is Roark, he went Tuesday against Tazewell. I didn't think of this before, but a post on preps said some could be moved to an early time (like 5) since some teams don't have lights...unless they played somewhere else nearby though. http://virginiapreps.rivals.com/showmsg....914&style=
Beamerball 566 Author Report Share Posted June 2, 2007 Northside beat Cave Spring in the other Region III baseball semifinal, 5-1...so they'll play Hidden Valley for the championship tonight. Cave Spring beat Jefferson Forest for the Region III softball championship. So Va High will travel to play Cave Spring and Tunstall will host Jeff. Forest in the first round of the softball state tournament, Tuesday.
