Bluefield_Rules 46 Report Share Posted August 27, 2007 I just got finished video from WVVA's website of their Football Friday feature from this past Friday night. It was absolutely horrible and painful to watch. They were showing highlights from one game and talking about another game. They didn't even show or tell the scores on a number of games they highlighted. And during one set of highlights there was dead silence for a good 10 seconds and then you hear "Uh touchdown." It must have been amateur hour on Friday night or something. Are the sports guys always that horrible?

total 12 Report Share Posted August 27, 2007 my wife and I stayed up to watch it, and after their "coverage" of the Beaver - Graham game, we just looked at each other like WOW... that was bad. it was ridiculous, but it was their first week as well. I guess they are allowed a couple delay of game penalties and a couple fumbles too... it's expected with first game jitters.... hahaha

"Gotta love it" when he'd get sidetracked, and need useless filler. The Charleston/Huntington stations always did a much better job of covering Friday night football, as did WDBJ in Roanoke. They'd have their own show after the news.
Sources 10 Report Share Posted August 27, 2007 The entire WVVA operation is amateur hour now. It's fairly pathetic.

I watch just for her. she was across the hall at the Mall one time, over at Borders, and I got some skaters that were hanging out in the shop to go get her autograph...... oh - if she would just come in there. BigD4VT 11 Report Share Posted August 27, 2007 Carie Baldwin was on the sidelines at a couple of Richlands games last year. Maybe Leigh Ann will do that this year. I've talked to PJ Ziegler a couple of times and I think he does a really good job. I'll miss Chris Miles though. I loved his humor. I don't know much about the new sports guys they have since I only watch during football season but I did meet one of them at the game Friday. Nice guy but he must have just got off the bus since he was asking "Who's the player to watch for Richlands?"

He said it as RICH-lands, as opposed to the proper rich-LANDS.
