dashriprock 10 Report Share Posted September 27, 2008 Abingdon fumbles first play of game. A few plays later, Honaker 6-0. Abingdon's next series, center snaps ball over punter's head, safety; Honaker 8-0. Abingdon's third series drives down for TD pass. 8-7. Abingdon had a missed FG in 2nd qtr. Honaker ran well and in the second half started wearing down Abingdon's defense. On most plays, Abingdon's secondary was making first contact with Honaker's runners. Abingdon ran the ball well. Abingdon's passing game was somewhat effective at times. But two key plays in my opinion helped cost Abingdon. Third quarter, Abingdon is running well, down 14-7, moving the ball, and on Honaker's 40 throws the fly on first down and it's intercepted. Honaker drives down the field, aided by a 50 yard run and goes up 20-7. Abingdon drives late in game down 20-14, again running fairly well and on 4th and 4 on Honaker's 20, throws another interception. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
litltiger 17 Report Share Posted September 27, 2008 was looking for a description of the game abingdon passing game just wouldnt work with all the bad weather.i think their game plan was throwing the ball.honaker was just honaker middle middle middle all night.abingdon drove the ball at the end of the game and came close to scoring at the end but a thrown interception inside the 20 with less than 2 min on the clock was the killer for abingdon.honaker just set on the ball for the win.very good game considering the nasty conditions Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
