This year we have expanded our first team and included an extensive honorable mention listing of the top Single A football performers from around the Commonwealth. Our first team is led by the Offensive Player of the Year, Shawn Christian who helped lead Eastern Montgomery to the D-1 state championship game and along the way etched his named in the VHSL record book. The Defensive Player of the Year, linebacker Corey Campbell from Riverheads, led the Gladiators to the D-1 state championship, and like Christian was a stand-out on both sides of the ball. Our Coaches of the Year are Bill Houseright, who's Gate City team won the D-2 state title, and Riverheads Robert Casto who coached the Gladiators to their third state title since 2000. VirginiaPreps.com 2010 Single A All State Football Team Offense: Quarterback: Shawn Christian, Eastern Montgomery (Senior) **Three Rivers District Offensive Player of the Year / Region C Offensive POY, completed 234 of 351 passes for 3,757 yards and 44 TDs, with 10 interceptions. Rushed for 597 yards, and 14 TDs, Second Team All-Region Defensive Back Running Back: Aaron Roane, West Point (Senior) **Capped of a tremendous high school career with 1,759 rushing yards and 28 touchdowns this past season. For his high school career Roane rushed for 5,257 yards, First team All-Region A selection on both Offense and Defense (Defensive Back) Running Back Tyrell Banks, Amelia County (Senior) **Banks rushed for over 1,600 yards as a senior, scoring 21 touchdowns, First team All-Region B selection at Running Back and Kick Returner Running Back: Joseph Vaughn, Gate City (Senior) **Clinch Mountain District Offensive Player of the Year, as a senior he rushed for over 1,600 yards, and 25 touchdowns and also caught 3 TD passes, Second Team All District Linebacker and Returner Wide Receiver: Brad Wooten, Eastern Montgomery (Senior) **First Team All-Region C, Wooten set a VHSL Record with 97 pass receptions as a senior, with over 1,500 receiving yards, and also scored 20 TDs. John you busted your ass during the offseason and its paid off man, congrats. Regal ran like a wildman and wouldn't go down. Glad Hurley put two on it this year. Grats to Hurley. This is just the virginia preps pickings this is not the official coaches poll for the All State Team. They have not released it yet. They just now had the region D meeting this past weekend.
