James Stanley, who was a member of the 2004 Grundy football team...very good kid, went on to the military after high school...passed away last night. I don't know the details, but he had some health issues and was dealing with a lot the past couple of years...James was a great guy and will be missed by all who knew him...please keep him, his family, and friends in your prayers.

Well damn, that just flippin sucks. Anyone know what happened? James was a good friend of mine, hadnt seen him in a few months, last time was at the grundy home playoff game a fe months ago, talked it up with him for about a half hour, I'm def. going to miss him, we had some good times, helluva four years at grundy, James and I were the two winningest players in grundy history, and thats something to hang your hat on. Great football player, even better person, prayers for him and his family. Going to miss ya man.

It takes a lot of courage to join the military not only after 9/11 or after Afghanistan, but in the middle of TWO conflicts and when fighting in fallujah was at its worst. It speaks well of his character.

James transferred up to Twin Valley and he played varsity hoops for me, he later went back to Grundy.

Great kid and super athlete. Ironically, just a few days ago, before his death, we were talking about the biggest moments in school history and a couple of plays that James made that stood out to us came to mind. He was very instrumental in helping us turn the corner in basketball and helping us build a tradition at Twin Valley.

He even helped us as an assistant after he graduated, we really thought a lot of that kid, he sure is gonna be missed.
